So where were you when they released Gandalf and Pennywise?

Their Batman is final/ready. They just have a different marketing strategy for both announcements and releases. Which is also in line with how Queen Studios (their parent company) do it where I’ve noticed that hardly any people take issue with it. Perhaps the 1/6 community is more entitled and whiny?

For the record, I’m not arguing that they have the best way, just offering an observation as to how they do it. And I’m also not saying you’re wrong. Just discussing.

So you and others would prefer if they offer a full album like Hot Toys? Bloggers by INART themselves or by third party photographers ala Hot Toys?

For wanting to discuss, you sure have some poor choice of words.

My point is, you want to show something is ready, then show the whole thing. It's ready for release by this time? Then do it as scheduled. If they're not ready, just say so. For what it is, it's poor communication on their end is what I'm seeing. You say John is just PR but I'm sure what he communicates to the collectors need to be cleared by the company itself. I'm sure he can't just willy nilly say anything if they're not in the same page.

Gandalf and Pennywise had official studio photos for their release and not a factory lineup of pieces. None for the Batman yet. If we're basing it on Inart's timeline of photos and if they are accurate, it was somewhat close to 3 months from the last factory lineup photos to the final studio photo.

For me, if they have to delay it then just say so. I couldn't care less on a massive photodump from Inart or any bloggers/reviewers on release day.

I kinda feel like that’s just how they do things. What they’ve revealed is Final, and part of their marketing strategy to generate hype and excitement is to give us a taste in small doses (it works on me lol). They probably figured that they’d save the best for last (the cowled sculpt), but underestimated how aggressive and demanding the collecting community can be at times, demanding everything at once or prone to writing the entire release off due to a few not ideal angled pictures. Gandalf’s “final release” post was solely a pic of him holding the added fireworks. Pennywise had a mini photo album (about 7 pics by INART themselves). And now we got this “final release” for Batman. They don’t have a consistent way of doing things and I think this throws off most collectors that have been used to Hot Toys style. They also have more of an artistic aesthetic marketing strategy that I find funny when people take issue with it. “Why do they line up all the accessories like that?” I think it’s pretty clear that they’re signaling to us that they’re ready to be shipped out.. lol. It also looks pretty.

With INART’s prior two releases, they then started to release more footage in the following weeks, like the Unboxing Video, Maintenance Video, and shared actual bloggers by external photographers. Just a matter of time. It also makes sense that this release feels different as there’s lots of eyes on this whereas with Gandalf and Pennywise, there wasn’t no where near as much.

But to our collective point in regards to clear “downgrades” like the longer and wavier rooted hair and “altered” portrait, perhaps this is a first time scenario where they will take these critical comments into account and revise a Final Release for mass production? Or perhaps they’re banking on people not knowing what they’re looking at or want and INART will stand by their work?
My only problem is their lack of consistency. I do like their teasing photos I have no problem with their lined up figures, only problem is their lack of angles this time around. Gandalf had a video of the headsculpts with lighting front view, which I was on May 31st. They had three videos on the same day which was crazy! It’s not the same with Batman, and I assumed they would post more the same week but nothing. There is something definitely happening and I wonder what it can be.

Best case they can do right now is provide better angles of the rooted sculpt, show us the enhancements of the figure and have 1st batch shipped end of the month. If they fail to do that they just need to tell us why again in another post.

Gandalf was a singular photo for its final release.

Pennywise was a small album.

THEN, they published external bloggers for both Pennywise and Gandalf weeeeeks after the official final release dates, respectively.

Batman was a small album as well with assorted pics. And it’s final release. Again, that’s why I pose the question given the backlash, will this be the first time where they revise a final release? But Batman is final.

Should they standardize how they do things? Sure. Do they need to? Are they obligated to? Hmm, not exactly. It’s their company, they can do as they see fit. Should they though to avoid backlash in the fashion they’ve received? I would.

I understand the frustration with the lack of consistency but those 2 posts dropped on 5/31 weren’t final release posts. Those were just what they call “production progress” update posts.

That’s the not the same as the final release Gandalf post which was on 8/22.

Hope that’s some clarification.

We will get more Batman posts. Probably the unboxing and maintenance video or even bloggers by BLACK, but those are coming in the next few weeks based on how it went for Gandalf and Pennywise.

@potatocorner4life - apologies if I wasn’t being clear or I may be misinterpreting things, but I do understand wanting to see more footage. I think INART needs to be more consistent like you said. I agree with that. It would avoid confusion from all parties involved.

I guess I just take issue with misinformation that runs rampant surrounding this company or expectations wanting them to be just like Hot Toys. They’re their own company with their own style, in the same vain like their parent company, QS. Just my opinion lol

“Production Update” for the Batman, meanwhile Gandalfs was called “Production Progress”. I would think they’re same type of post. They also never mentioned any shipping news on this Batman post, or any word final to it which is odd. (I assume it’s still final) Gandalf’s enhancement post was a month after their production post, with the shipping finally “commencing.” So I guess they’re not that far from their past.

Main difference from Gandalf is that this month is when the figure supposedly ships so hopefully we get this enhancement post very soon.

I also agree with everything else you said, they are 100% not like HT. HT blogger photos are just completely different than the way Inart runs things. :)

They found the rogue rooted hair worker in the assembly line. An employee going by the name of "Choward Han." 🤣

Hmm, interesting. See that’s the inconsistency problem with them because the 8/22 Gandalf post was technically their “final release” ‘Final Production Piece’ post, (just like it was named for Pennywise). Cause a week after that, it had been shipped and Breda reviewed it on his channel.

Pennywise’s final release post was flat out called “Final Production Piece Announcement.”

As for Batman, they did mention shipping, in the March 22, 2024 post. Which that’s why I guess I’m optimistic but I’d like to think they already have. Only reason why we’re not seeing it is because people/YouTubers like Big Breda (who is no longer affiliated with them anymore) don’t have it yet in hands. Or it’s a straight up conspiracy where perhaps INART is holding off (?). I guess I’m more speculative as opposed to acting like I know what’s up like others do in this broad community.

Per the live stream, pics posted on 4/1 were confirmed to be the Final Release. As expected. Looks like they underestimated the potential backlash, but I’m glad to see they acknowledged that the reception was “99% negative” due to the (bad) photos. Hopefully, it’s a lesson learned for them.

Unboxing video and more footage of the figure incoming. As expected.

Reason for delay was to improve certain things. Nice. Confirmed.

Basically drove the point home that people should exercise patience.
