Let's talk Samurai figures & related

This year I got big into collecting figures from JPT Design. They did this excellent female Samurai a while back

JPT's sensitive application of materials is stunning. Their new ninja figure is the best example of their workmanship

This was the next figure by them, which I lovingly call Grandma Samurai. I never bought a figure of an elderly person before, but it is quickly becoming a favorite of mine

I also really like this figure by verycool - the Holy Man

My goal is to have seven. I’ve just got the 1/6 Asura Holy Man. Before that, I got the JPT Knell. I have the Ghost. I have Shadows figure. I have the POP Miyamoto Musashi and the Ken Watanabe in black armor. I have the JPT Dog ninja on preorder, as well as the Toshiro Mifune 2-pack by Kaustic Plastik. I think I’m done after that

Nice thread. I’ve been collecting Japanese and samurai related figures for many years now, I’ve got more than this but I’ve run out of display space.

Love the display, especially with the old Alfrex figs getting top shelf treatment. Very classy with all the artwork too

Thanks mate! Yeah the old Alfrex figures are classics, especially the Lone Wolf and Cub set.

Just Toyotomi Hideyoshi for me. I’ve got lots of awesome 1/6 figs from hot toys etc but this is such a well made figure. Awesome metal armour and sword.

If your watching shogun you might have spotted this armour in the background in the castle scenes.

I use to have the old DID international version of this armor, but ended up selling him a few years ago. All metal and extremely heavy that needed a stand to stay upright. Once set up it was quite an impressive piece, but he was replaced by something else and life goes on

Just the one. Which I bought when it came out and was floored by the amount of work involved, and dusting him off for this photo I still am. Really surprised it's not more highly sought after, based on the price of one currently on eBay. Still, the DID Date Masamune from 2000 will forever be 'my samurai' figure. I want for no more since, even with so many modern tempations.

Love this figure. I still have the International and Japanese ex release of this one. Both boxed up at the moment, but amazing figures.

I have a few 1/12 figures of armoured Samurai (Coomodel, DiD, YepStudio), Ninja (EdStar, Vtoys) and samurai (TwelveWorld, Notaa, AtonCustomes). My favourite is the TwelveWorld Miyamoto Musashi (Vagabond comic version).

I've been wanting to get into 1/6 versions, especially in the wake of watching things like Blue Eye Samurai and Shogun. It's a challenge to know which one to go for, considering prices and availability etc. I have the upcoming Toshiro Mifune 1/6 on preorder. I am hoping that a company jumps on the Shogun show and makes some figures of that.

I’d not be surprised at all if Pop Toys makes figures from Shogun, especially Lord Toranaga, Blackthorne and Mariko.

I agree that Hiroyuki Sanada Is def getting made by POP if they do Shogun.

The KP 1/6 Mifune is a great start

I have the CM Toys Yukimura Sanada, Coomodel Masamune Date, ACI Nobunaga Oda and Shingen Takeda. I also have Tunshi Studio Haomaru and Ukyo from Samurai Shodown, even though they’re from a video game. I haven’t had a chance to display those yet. (Not pictured)
