Watching the movies again, notice mostly the bandana does not look tight to his head but rather like it is covering and unkempt thicket of dreads... which it is. So yeah probably more like artisan than sculpted. Also now I want the goat as an accessory 🏴‍☠️🐐

I remembered watching this scene when I was little and it felt like I was tripping balls lol. It still lives in my head rent-free.

I stand by the pudding bowl comment 🤷‍♂️ it should definitely appear tighter against his forehead and especially the sides as they go up the side of his head. It should be more of a 'rounded pyramid' shape, not an R2D2 dome. But hey, it's still an incredible figure and you will all be happy with it.

Agreed. Artisan is domed with no stress folds on the sides as you've made obvious with these comparison photos. I would never drop that kind of coin on a figure, especially as I doubt HT has the hair process perfected at this point and I actually appreciate the sculpted versions better, and as far as I can tell the only difference between deluxe and "standard" is the base to the steering wheel, there was never a question for me which to buy. Again, thrilled to have the opportunity for this last(?) chance at Jack. After looking at previous offerings, I am glad I waited.

Me as well, super wild composition that! Whoever said the movies suck, through first core three episodes now with the wife and kids and between craziness, comedic relief (surprisingly refreshing lack of PC fixation especially for Disney) and great thematic music gotta say we all still thoroughly enjoy. Not sure about ep 4 and 5 sans Orlando and others but we'll see.

Welp - I'm all in, I just sold my DX06 and DX15 base [bye bye Zombie shark - I still think you're awesome!] and the price is pretty much covering the cost of this new figure.
Artisan here we go!

I think its interesting what our eyes tell us and what judgement we make with so little objective reference. If we add the Dx to the comparison and imagine a bowl shaped outline over each, I believe they are very similar or at least both are "domed" Moreso than the screencap of the movie and what differences we might be seeing between the figures is skewed by different lighting or zoom, darker apparent color of the Dx and slightly different angle of the head.

Not trying ruffle feathers or say anyone is "wrong" just that unless you have both IRL side to side same lighting same angle then too difficult to make empirical judgement about what "stress folds" one has that the other doesn't. What is clear is clear to me though is that watching three movies so far I never noticed a "sheen" or shiny aspect to cloth of Jack's bandana which is present on the Dx when a light hits it from front as it would in most of our displays.

Cheers, JC

The sheen may not be accurate, but it does give an appearance of dimension that the cloth bandana doesn't have right now, IMO. It may just be an artifact of the bright lighting at Secret Base, but the Artisan bandana looks very flat -- not much highlight, not much shadow. Whereas the light reflecting off the DX bandana reads more "correctly" to the eye to some of us, since it more clearly demonstrates the shape.

RIght so could also look at both promo pics closely... and "Walla" there's your "stress folds" on both. Anyway, whatever just have to wait and see but think both will be very nice . Cheers JC

I was rewatching DMTNT the other day and did notice the bandana had somewhat of a sheen to it right at the end of the movie.

I also noticed the bandana seems inconsistent most of the movie, in some scenes it looks more vibrant and in others not so much. The position of the knot also changes, it seems like the Artisan version is based on the ending scene.

Not sure if anyone pointed this out yet. But a friend brought to my attention that only the two lower belts will be real leather. The baldric however is not...and maybe it's still pleather like the DX06/15? The gator belt was always rubber so that shouldn't be a problem, the baldric not being real leather is real disappointing and I might cancel my Artisan PO because of this.

It could also be a plastic/rubber piece that won't fall apart. Definitely doesn't look the same as the Dx15 one. Also not a good reason to cancel this. You'd regret it later but you could probably still get the sculpted version if it's still available. Do what you think is best but I personally wouldn't cancel over something like.

By cancelling I meant more like switching from Artisan to Deluxe. It does look like a different material from DX15 as it's thicker and has those rubber-like outlines.

Ah OK that's an option but the Artisan will be something sought after worst case scenario you can trade it for a sculpted version after getting in hand.

The belts are the same on both versions so switching to the Deluxe won’t impact the lifespan of that belt. If you were lucky enough to score an Artisan this isn’t a reason to give it up.
