Lucas already lost his way by the time of the special editions. Remember the clamoring for someone to take the franchise from him after the special editions and prequels? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

Even if we were to pretend he was the perfect person to run and understand Star Wars, he is probably under a lot of pressure to side with Iger anyway. There may be certain clauses in his contract from the sale that compel him to. A lot of his payment was in shares IIRC so he likely has financial incentive for stability (as shortsighted as that is). On top of all that his wife is heavily invested with Blackrock IIRC so he probably has pressure to take the side from all directions despite all his past complaints about Disneys treatment of his former company.

"New" Old Expanded U Black-Series box set...
Always thought the Expanded U was mediocre, but after what Disney pulled out their *$$, this nonsense is brilliant by comparison. :lol

Yup. And I remember the bashing when the force awakens teaser dropped. Then the last Jedi dropped and they were begging the man to come back.

Never know what you have til it’s gone lol

Leaving Star Wars to KK was just a continuation of his decisions he had been making since the Greedo shot first and the PT stories.

KK just carried on the tradition

Sure at first but then he doubled back and said he "sold his baby to white slavers"

which makes him more evil than even KK

Now wonder he thought Anakin killing younglings was a redeemable act. He’s the type of man who sell his own child into the white slave market.

George is the most creative idiot ever!!

I didn't mind the Thrawn trilogy, but Dark Empire was the high water mark of the EU. Glad we got at least a taste of it in the ST.

(I wouldn't have wanted a pure adaptation of DE as I prefer a "new generation" in each trilogy).

If Lucasfilm/Disney wants my money again to go watch SW in the theater then they better release the OT unaltered in 70mm Imax I would go 5 times for each movie not even kidding.

If they really REALLY cared about giving their hardcore audience what they’ve been asking for since 1997 and if they really REALLY cared about SW at all they would listen to their customers just look at Oppenheimer and Dune 2 kicking ass.

For a company that is scrambling for money they sure know how not to generate any!

Instead they give us the silly Acolyte with the silliest Sith ever lol

Are all 9 movie showings individual? Or is it a one ticket price for a 9 movie marathon?

If they were sold individually, or by trilogy even, it would've been "enlightening" to see the ticket sales numbers & BO results for each movie/trilogy... I think I'd do a pretty good job of predicting the outcome...
