Thank you, they’re almost sold out for 2023 if not already. I could open a handful more spots for Q4 but it’s looking like a busy year already.
OT, could you please clarify, the begins sculpt currently offered on your site is listed as 2.0, what is the 2.3 version you mention in this post? If it is different, where can I find more details please? Sorry if this has been clarified already.
Secondly, do you have a video or detailed explanation about removing the eyes from one sculpt and fitting them into your sculpt please?
Has anyone else has done this who could share their experience?
Thanks

His v2.3 is his 2.0 that he's selling. He's just updating it and improving it before it goes into production.

Yes. I‘m actually on like V2.6.1 and V2.6.2 now testing different neck lengths. One may become the final product. There will only be one V2 cowl that gets shipped and it will be the latest number under my naming convention as I work through different tweaks. I save each iteration distinctly so I can go back to each version if a change goes too far. Think of it like having multiple save points in a game.

This helps it stay as close to the original scan as possible and keeps me from iterating on top of edits that I didn’t like which could get too far from the source.

Here is V2.6.2 with the slightly longer neck of the two most recent variants.

I get it now. Thank you both for clearing that up for me. The sculpt looks great 👍
Does anyone have any experience with the eyeball swap that they could share?
Thanks

I inquired about that in the DX19 thread and never got a reply. Even suggested a tutorial video for the newbs. TBF, I think only a couple people have done that "mod" on this forum.

Oh ok thanks. I am sure OT will help us out with this when he has time as presumably he has done it for his sculpts and it would be helpful for people looking to buy a sculpt from him who don’t have his experience, myself included. 🤞

I can't directly discuss my products in other threads, I am not even sure I can in this one.

It is a simple swap the stock eyes are in a rubber eye plate and my latest eye plate is also rubbery. You just pull straight back on the stalks with tweezers or needle nose pliers and they pop right out. Heating it may help but I haven't had to do this and its possible it could soften the paint on the eyes.

I've been able to swap eyes back and forth many times before they show any wear and when they do it's only on the sides where it's not visible installed. If you plan to swap them over once and maybe back to the stock sculpt once should you decide to sell it, its really unlikely you'd damage the eyes. When they are installed you can feel free to pose them at will without any risks.

Thanks for that, sounds easy enough. I assume you would need to glue the rubber plate in to the new sculpt then or is it held in place some other way?

My cowl comes with it's own rubber plate permanently preinstalled. You don't have to remove the eye plate from either cowl to accomplish the swap, just the eye balls themselves.

Just got my OT-Customs Batman Begins cowl. Any tips on how to install it? Do I need the adapter from the Hot Toys original cowl?

Also, how are people dealing with the cape clips since the OT sculpt has its own nonfunctional clips sculpted in?

Thanks!

I seem to recall having to wrestle the small rubber piece out of the existing HT head to put it in the OT head. Once you do that, it just pops on the HT neck.

I changed out the existing HT cape for an OT cape, so the clips on the HT cape were a non-issue. If at all possible, I would advise getting a replacement cape and not use the HT cape. Aside from resolving the clip issues, it looks 100% better.

Thanks! Already have the Jaxon Drape Cape, but was waiting for the new cowl to install it. Now that you mention it, I’m pretty sure the new cape was just an around the neck install, so no issue there it would seem.

Thanks again!

is this the correct link for the 2.3?

PREORDER - Batman Begins Cowl 2.0 | OT-Customs

Is it possible you could open more slots for the painted eyes? I'd really rather not use the HT eyes.

Will there be another batch of OT Batman Begins Cowls?

I'm a little late to the party - got the re-issue Batman Begins figure last year but still have it in the box since my display cases were not ready yet at the time.

OT announced on IG that he's not going to take pre-orders anymore due to various factors. So he'll make them in batches and ready to ship out. So you'll probably need to glue your eyes to his site or i think he has a paid subscription membership where you get notified in advance when something will be up for sale soon.

Thanks for the FYI.

I went with a PO of Jaxon's cowl and cape today - would of preferred the OT but there's no guarantee he'll reissue and it's more expensive.

Also, don't want to spend too much upgrading considering we might get an InArt Batman Begins by 2032. :lol

Just came across this thread, so I'll weigh in with my thoughts. As somebody who has a great deal of attachment to this film, I love @unrealtoys cowl the most. It may not beat OT's in terms of technical accuracy, or even in versatility with the moving eyes, but as it stands, a more stylized representation interpreted through the artists vision rather than scanned off a prop, I feel that Unreal's sculpt captures the essence of the character better than any other I've seen.

OT's, as incredible as it is, looks neutral by comparison. More akin to what Hot Toys might produce if they actually tried. Whereas Unreal's conveys more than a likeness to me. Even with the neutral mouthplates, it gives off a certain energy. And I think the curve is a major factor.

When is Jaxon’s cowl coming out? I’ve been holding on to the HT Batman Begins and Jaxon’s cape and never opened it or put it together just waiting for the cowl.

I’m curious too. I preordered Jaxon’s sometime last may or June. Thiught I’d see some updates. Oh well just be waiting patiently. I understand these customs take forever.
