Strange why they didn't paint the undersuit with wiring on the elbow joints.

I know that they would seldom been seen with his arms bent and posed up, but it still would have been a nice detail to include as it looks great on the knee joints.

Tamashii doesn't have it either. I assume since it's the most used joint, worried about paint rub or can't make it plastic due to brittleness. Would be great though for added detailing.

Not a big deal as he's really just an optional accessory but the Salacious looks a bit like a Hasbro figure blown up to 1/6 scale - sort of cheap/plasticky looking. And no real fur on his head and neck on a release that's near the $350 range? But then I guess Sideshow did the same thing on their Salacious that came with their double-the-cost Jabba.

Head comparison.

MEDICOM ...............................SIDESHOW.............................TAMASHII................................HOT TOYS

3PO's head has always been a tough one to get right but I never realized how off the Sideshow version was until seeing it compared here. Based solely on these photos I sort of like the Medicom one the best!

I've never owned the MEDICOM version, but i've always admired it. For me it still has the best engineering for the light-up eyes feature. Pity about the scale though.

Like most of their figures SS looks like it jumped out of a comic book...too cartoony looking.

Great comparison photos matrix. Thank you.

I own the Tamashii and I will not get this Hot Toys version, although it is a great release. Congratulations to those getting it! Enjoy!

Thanks for those excellent comparisons. This makes me even more excited for it. I personally love the way HT came out. It looks stellar. That minor thing with the arm details aside, I think it came out phenomenal.
