How 3A squandered this license is probably my greatest disappointment in collecting of the past decade. Did the rubber on anyone else's Halo 4 figures tear at the elbows or around the back of the knees?
I haven't had that problem, but time will tell. I was seriously contemplating getting a world box At027 body and a black suit like a wetsuit and try a body swap. The figure looks good in a neutral pose, but that's about it.

I know there has to be someone out there with some good customizer skills to pull off a good body swap!

Surprised no revival of the thread with the new series out.

I decided to try some improvements. I painted the suit black and made some cuts to crotch to allow for more pose ability. Perhaps some day someone with more skills than me can successfully pull off a body swap.

till then I managed a slight improvement
Nothing to really talk about, they’ve shown no indication that they still hold the license or that they have any interest in continuing with it, nor has any other company really.

Other Than the pose-ability. how has the figure been? I just picked up the 3A Doom Marine Last week and I freaking love it!! yes, the pose-ability isn't the best but it's not as terrible as most cut it out to be. The reason I ask is because I love Master Chief from Halo and I need him without a doubt in my collection!! If it is not worth it please let me know or vice versa? If it is as bad as others claim do you have any other recommendations of a 1/6 Chief figure from a different company? I heard Mattel & NECA Did some pretty good Master Chief Figures, thoughts?

I feel if given the chance I could potentially be successful with this. I say this because I had the audacity to take apart the Three-Zero Fallout Power Armor figures in particular the "Power Armor Frame". I noticed that they were super similar in how they constructed the DOOM Marine. It is actually not even a suit let alone a full-body underneath to really swap out. The suit/ power armor is literally the body. I was saddened, to say the least, cause I was hoping there was a figure body within the frame. Not the case, unfortunately, however, it taught me how they make their figures.

The best way that I can explain it is that it's been constructed in a way that it's attached to the suit and it's a part of it. Further meaning, that if you were to most likely take apart the figure it would be in pieces/ be in parts of the literal body itself. I will however mention that the Three-Zero Dead Space 3 Isaac Clarke Figure had a whole plastic body within its suit!! Upon taking it apart that is. It's entirely possible that they did the same concept for Master Chief or they did the latter of making the suit the body itself.

I hope my experience helps anyone that comes across it!!

I would love to hear other people's thoughts on this?? :wave

Its ok. It is ever bit what you hear people complain about. There is no exaggeration. The hands will not hold the weapons, the rubber suit is way too big for the under body used and the rubber suit kills all articulation.

I saw on another forum, onesixthwarriors I think where someone dismantled this guy. Its basically a cheap plastic body with a full rubber suit over it and the armor pieces are attached to "float" on the rubber suit.

In theory, you could do a body swap and put a black stretch suit or black superman style suit on it and then put the armor on. Trouble would be fitting the armor to the body as the armor is very large. There is spacers inside the armor that are meant to attach to the rubber suit. However, on a regular muscular body it would still look odd as the armor would be oversized for the body.

Ok, I am on an adventure to body swap this guy. Things are looking promising, still awaiting a part to begin assembling. Pics hopefully coming within the next month.

I look forward to hearing how it goes!! Please keep us posted. :)

Ok so I finished. It was difficult and definitely not perfect but much better than before!

WOW!! I am not sure how I didn't see your post but I just wanted to say that to me it looks FANTASTIC!! I love the custom base for him too. Did you make that base? PS what kind of body did you use for the Chief? as well as, what was the process like of switching bodies? I am just curious cause I possibly might get the ThreeA Chief from now seeing the results of your figure.

Sorry for the late reply, work has been very hectic. I got the base from Cocoboy. He has a shop on Etsy (DisplayHeroes) alot of awesome bases to choose from.

As for the body, I used the AT027 world box body with the Halo rubber undersuit.

Sorry to resurrect this old thread but I just had to share my excitement after just picking up these two grails. Paintwork still holds up (and in someways exceed) what we get today.

Going to continue to keep my eye out for a Chief, already got a AT027 ready to swap.

Nice acquisitions! I use to own all these 3A Halo figures, from what I recall the sales weren't good enough to continue the line. Jorge was suppose to be the next figure in line, but it got scrapped. I liked these figures a lot, especially the weathering but the limited articulation on these was what ultimately made me sell them off years ago.

1000toys is currently making Halo: Reach figures, too bad they're 1:12 scale, but ironically they cost just as much as the 1:6 figures did at the time of their p/o. Really be cool if another company would tackle Halo in 1:6 scale.
