Was the Emperor ever in the presence of more than 2 Royal Guards (besides his entrance on the Death Star in Return of the Jedi)?

I own 2 of the original Hot Toys guards but tempted to get 2 more of these KOs. But I can’t recall another scene where more guards would be necessary.

I like Star Wars but can’t claim to be an aficionado so the differences between the original and KO are subtle to me. Plus, this is a background character with no true head sculpt so the KO can get away without 100% accuracy.

Well, they appeared in the background in AOTC and ROTS in senate chambers (Palpatines office mainly) so could be paired with any other Palpatines you have including prequel Palps.

My pair just came in, just put together one for now as I’m the process of moving and I haven’t set up my figures properly. I’m really happy with it (despite having to do the ankle peg shave down and use my old friend blue tack) I can tell my RotJ display is gonna feel much more complete with the emperor flanked by these two. Are they Hot Toys quality? not 100%. Was it worth paying the price of one of the Hot Toys guards at release to get two of these now? Absolutely. Gonna do some more futzing and probably treat the robe in some way once I’m ready to have them in their proper display.

Got the standard narrow shoulder body Kit as well (Custom Version 4.0 Narrow Shoulder Body), but can't get the boots in even after heating them. Tired of trying to force them in, so just gonna just shave down the pegs and use putty like was suggested on here previously. Wasn't planning on anything other than a museum pose anyways.

Actually, after going back and measuring everything, it looks like the foot pegs were too SMALL! I've just been shoving for no reason! So, putty on the existing foot pegs. Done.

Easier to spin a drill bit into the boots and open those up ever so slightly until the pegs go in.

I meant appearances in the Original Trilogy but thanks for the references for the Prequels.

I do not have a Palpatine for the Prequels yet - Hot Toys put a hybrid figure up for PO based on the animated series I think but not based on the main films.

Siddshow did ROTS Palps IIRC. Not HT quality obviously but Red guards would fit with that one too.

Okay, for anyone who hasn't tried this one.....

So I took the outer robes off, thoroughly soaked them under a tap. Then I put them back on the guards and smoothed it out.

Over the subsequent 7 or 8 hours I periodically smoothed out, stretched a little, and generally shaped the robes as they dried. I left them in a semi-damp state looking extremely promising. Barely any horizontal line visible.

Once they had completely dried over night.....it was back. So, water treatment does make the robes flow a lot better and gets rid of that lumpy right shoulder, but it isn't going to get rid of that stupid line. It is the only thing dragging down a really fantastic kit.

If anyone wants to cut the inside lining of that robe and then let me know if you can remove that damned backing piece to the robe that is causing the line, then please don't let me stop you 😉. Cutting it is a step too far for me........ at this stage at least.

I suspect that its fixed permanently to the outer robe, but you never know. If that wasn't there, you'd have something difficult to distinguish from the Hot Toy.

I think there were 6 that got off the shuttle with him during his entrance. After that I think it was just 2 ever shown at one time guarding the throne room.

While I already have two HT Royal Guards, I would like to see them produce kits for the Senate Guard (blue), Shadow Guard (black) and Royal Guard Trainees from Crimson Empire (red, blue and yellow), as they will never be done by HT.

They could also do the Force Unleashed senate guard / royal guard/ shadow guard as all 3 share the same helmet and armour, just different colour.

In fact, I am already working on a conversion kit for them.

Who's that scoundrel next to him?
It’s a custom Bespin Han I put together not too long ago. Outfit by JustZ and the head is the Will Millar sculpt painted by Nils Van Sante. Great craftsmanship by all involved and together it nails that look. Even though I’m not properly set up yet I had to put him and Leia out together. (Royal Guard in background so it’s thread appropriate lol)

:duff Thanks for the photo. Looks great! They really nailed the color on the Bespin jacket

All that guard's robe needs is ironing. You dont even have to take it off the figure. Just test on a corner to make sure the iron isnt too hot.
