I did not need a hairdrier for the KO guard boots. They popped right on to the generic narrow shoulder body I used so likely not the same ankle cups that the real HT uses. You just need to ensure the ball aligned with the cup before pushing as if the ball is off to the side it may seem like it is not popping in when really it hitting the side wall of the cup
What body are you using? I’m thinking AT042 or AT020Pro. Cheapest I could find at OST…

Need to get some KO guards on show here, folks.

I also could not get the boots on, despite many attempts, with 4 different boots, and a huge amount of applied pressure. I gave up, shaved the ankle pegs down, and applied blu tack. That resolved it for now.

For me, the only real problem is the horizontal line across his outer cape, on his chest. Try as I might, I can't get rid of it. How are you addressing that? It's the only issue with an otherwise amazing set.....but it's a complete eyesore!

In natural light, not an issue :

But when I turn my lighting on, you can clearly see it:

It appears to be attached to the back inner side of the cape.

This may show it clearer:

It's a backing to the cape material I think, between the two layers of the cape.

If anyone has any success in resolving that, please let me know how!

Not sure but mine has it too. I assumed it was crease from packaging and might go away with time or a very gentle iron but now you mention a backing seam I am starting to wonder. May check it out tomorrow. My main gripe is the under helmet folds on mine are not smooth like everyone elses.

In meantime, I snapped a couple poorly lit phone pics:

The under helmet folds on both of mine were exactly like yours....wiggly! I carefully ironed them to get them to how they look in my pictures above. I also very carefully ironed the capes, as i had done with my Hot Toys version previously, and it doesn't get rid of the line. If anything, it potentially only accentuated it further.

Well, glad there is a fix for the under helmet folds. The other line though I will need to investigate. Perhaps cutting a discreet slit between the robe layers, inserting some smooth flat card between then ironing??

Yeah, I was mulling that one over too, but havent gone to that length yet. My suspicion thiugh, is that the material within the cape causing the issue may be fixed to the external Cape. I futzed about trying to shift it when ironing with no success.

I gave the outer robe a bit of a going over with some mini, travel-straighteners (not mine.)

Didn’t do as much as I’d hoped for but my crease is less pronounced and a little rounded now so looks more like it’s part of the natural drape.

My second guard is waiting for another basic body to arrive.

Thanks for posting, seems like both helmet and cloak are a bit different in red color, but not all that noticeable in-hand? So could be displayed side-by-side?

How do the outer robe fabrics compare in terms of drapiness? The "V" creases and drape seem a bit more natural on the HT but I guess that can be futzed.

And the helmet visor is opaque black on the KO fig versus tinted dark-red translucent on the HT? Weapons seem identical, though hands a bit darker on the KO.

Need to remember it’s not hot toys standard but it’s not hot toys money ..
the helmet is ok in fact it’s all pretty good and the only thing needs work is the robe … the drape isn’t as good so I used some bath plug chain and ran that on the inside of the robe… the drape around the neck wasn’t too good either so I put a little hole in the corner of all three loops and threaded some rubber tube to give it some shape.. I will say if you’re thinking of doing this you might need some gloves as the robe does pull easily.. I’ll put some pics of what I used…IMG_1998.pngIMG_2003.jpegIMG_1998.png

I used a spray bottle to wet down the robe. It really does help it lay better once dried, especially on the shoulders. I recommend pulling down from the hem as you adjust the wet material. It is very delicate and finicky. If you are prone to dry skin, I suggest moisturizing or wearing gloves before adjusting the material once dry. My super dry fingers snagged on the material.

Overall I really like these for the price. I wish the material was hardier and just a tad darker. It looks great under cabinet lighting but under regular light the robe looks a little orange to me. The rest of the figure is perfect as I could want and looks great. I don’t have the HT release to compare it to. I was one of the many who refused to pay the deluxe pricing for that figure. I had been quietly kicking myself for missing out, but these guys scratched that itch.

I also used the narrow shoulder body from Kit. Haven’t figured out the boot issue. I think the ball the figure comes with may be too small. Feels like they just sit in the boots cavity. I might glue them in at some point and call it a day.

Picture shows the figure after water treatment on the left (extra Palps head side) and pre water (out of the box) on the right.
