Questions for Asmus

...It would be sad to not have communication on the boards from Asmus,especially so soon after signing up to these Forums.

I hope there will be some info that can come out soon.

Hello, any update on the Thranduil figure? Please let us know if you are going to continue to make the Middle Earth figures or if you are giving up the license

Here is my collection... and my collection without Asmus's figures. Of course we're all in awe with the prodigious Inart Gandalf but let's not forget what Asmus have achieve these last 10 years. Without Asmus, no fellowship. They have done some really great figures, hope to see you soon back in the game and thank you for all the work you already done guys !!

Hey, those 5 customs look awesome.
Because they are indeed customs, aren't they? You made them all yourself?
Or is that Sauron is a product? If affirmative, from which manufacturer?

Yes it's been out for a few months now and looks incredible.

Wow Chopper Face.... that indeed is some good 1/6 LOTR eye!

I am astonished & questoins immediately crop up in my collector mind:

1) Chopper, you talk about "the first" Sideshow/Weta Sauron statue. Why "first"? Were there several versions, the 1st of them could stand w/o the base?

2) Is it safe, or even possible to display that statue w/o its base & w/o any mods?

3) Why the ACI Aragorn, Neko? And why do you prefer that version to the Asmus one?

4) Is the Viper custom still better than the Crown White Gandalf, Neko? (anyone owning the Viper custom is invited to chime in)

Yes, you just have to pull the statue off the base and it stands quite well on it's own.
I don't prefer the ACI Aragorn over the Asmus, I have 3 Aragorn from Asmus and they look very good. I like both.
I didn't have a chance to see the Asmus Gandalf the white for real, but the Viper custom is incredible, and for me beats the Asmus version on every point. Not that the Asmus is bad, far from that, but the tailoring and the materials used on the Viper are gorgeous, the robes really look luxurious. And the head is even better than the Asmus for me.

Is anyone else in here waiting for their InArt Gandalf?

The next Viper Gandalf the White will be from InArt if they secure The Two Towers license, so I'd just hold out for that. (Viper is the art director of InArt)

Trying to source that original custom figure would probably cost you $2K now so, even if JND take a crack at hi in the future, it won't cost that much for a single figure.
