I think the only locks are Maul, Obi Wan and Quin Gon.

If we get an Amidala i'm curious if they would give us the full queen look or go the easy route and give us the final battle look when she's in disguise as a handmaiden.

I’d like a proper hot toys, general grievous under a dark side line. With savage and ventress
General Grievous is a lock for ROST anniversary next year. For that Dark Side lineup I seriously have no clue, but I suspect the license might covers legend or comic dark side characters.

The smart play is greatest hits - it’s bread & butter. Maul in a collectors box for the win. HT has to keep capacity open for IM and spidey

years ago in here I was intensely bashed for predicting AOTC Ani will eventually happening, even made a thread about it. So moral of the story... never say never.

HT will never make a Jabba on the ROTJ 40th anniversary year. I said never lol.

They say reaction to the ST redeemed the PT, if a HT JarJar figure is made it will come close to proving the redemption of TPM is complete.
My honest opinion is that the prequels weren't redeemed, they simply look better in comparison to the sequels in terms of story telling and world building. The PT still sucks on many levels though I still do enjoy it. It is ok to like bad movies so long as we admit they are bad.

With all that said, a figure of a bad character from a bad movie can still sell provided there is enough nostalgia for it, and Jar Jar has that appeal. The JarJar jokes/memes are still around because it is definitely still a major part of public consciousness. I bet a Jar Jar would sell quite well for HT at this point.

Wasn't there an interview years ago where Howard basically said HT would never make a Jar Jar figure (hated the character) or am I remembering it wrong?
I'd appreciate seeing a well-rendered Jar Jar figure, but considering how it would take a unique body and other special parts the would not see any reuse for future figures (except other gunguns like Tarpals or a warrior) to create at a big expense, it seems highly unlikely.

A padawan Kenobi? Maybe. It would have good display options with either Jinn or Maul. A young Amidala in either red dress (Palace or Senate)? Doubtful. More likely the Theed battle outfit. More "action-oriented" and again, good display option with Jinn.
Would LOVE a destroyer droid, but that's another complicated figure that even if offered, wouldn't be cheap.

I am curious if HT is going to push out the boat w/TPM or just do a couple reissues and call of the day.

Jar jar is not going to happen. And good, because he does not deserve to happen. Way too niche for the hundreds of thousands the molds would cost.

We cant even get Ventress and you guys think we're getting Binks. Smh

To certain extent, a fan or collector's love/hate for a specific Star Wars trilogy is dependent on what generation that person belongs to.

At the time the prequels were out, I never imagined fans would look back fondly on those movies. But my younger relatives and friends grew up on those films and animated series and now there are so many spin-off shows and merchandise based on the prequels.

20-years from now, I don't doubt the sequels will see a similar revival as fans look back nostalgically.

I sure hope so…

I just got another sideshow one after not having one for a few years, and man is it a beauty that deserves better material

Makes me want to leave it in the box, when it should be a flagship figure/character

I actually disagree. I was one of those who grew up with the PT and over the years I went from child who loved them to adult who knows they are terrible and would actually be ok with them being remade entirely. Meanwhile my appreciation of the OT increased.

I think that while nostalgia can taint ones perception just maturing in general can refine our perception of those things we grew up with.

I think the PT has a couple factors that make it able to be appreciated by some still: the story was good, the world building was good and other prequel era content outside the movies was good. The ST doesn't have any of those factors. The sequel trilogy only worsens over time and the attempts to expand with stuff like Resistance have only fallen flat. You can't build on a broken sinking foundation and expect the building to stand the test of time. The PT was a terrible house built on a good foundation so there is room to build good structures on that foundation.

20 years from now the ST will be forgotten, especially with all the other content being pumped out.

I agree with this.
The ST is simply lacking in every area. The PT had enjoyable or at least memorable characters, outfits, ships, weapons, locations- all designed brilliantly- and there are several stand-out scenes/set-pieces in each movie; not to mention the duels. The score across the entire PT is also some of the best in all Star Wars.

The ST can boast none of that. The ‘Holdo Manoeuvre’ might be the only visually admirable moment to come out of the ST but even that had to desecrate the internal mechanics of the universe to exist. The rest is hollow.

Bash me. I'm making a Dexter Jettster thread!
Oh yeah, well I'll make a Kitster and Wald two-pack thread.
