I keep looking at my sideshow figure 8 feet away, and then looking at the hot toys pictures. Still can't convince myself that there is a marked difference in aesthetic. I was so pleased when I finally got the sideshow that I also feel a little more emotionally invested in it. I could sell him now, make a decent profit (this guy is still selling over 300 even after the Rex reveal), buy the hot toys Rex and have money to put towards another figure too.....so I have been tempted.
But, I'm still not sold on a visible difference on the figure (other than thehelmet style variation and think I prefer the sideshow helmet).
Will see how I feel as the months inevitably roll on, will still be easily able to pick him up for the price he is now right up until release.

I've decided to keep my Sideshow Cody and Rex. They're fine on the shelf intermixed with Hot Toys, just as the Sideshow aliens do.
It was a tough choice but I just love the character so much. Popcultcha do an earlybird 10% off ($413 vs 460) which is only a limited time after PO so waiting just ends up costing you more. I had pennies so effectively doubled the discount to 20% off. I'm looking forward to comparing both in hand.
Did HT forget to put welding marks at the cheek portions?
And, is the sides of the abdomen area are fat in the fig?re? Or is it me that get accustomed to animation proportions and forgot how they phase 2 armor looked in the movies?

Seems like it. The blue also wraps further round the helmet on the HT.
Get the CW Anakin whenever it gets made - the character is so much better and more interesting than in the movies.
My money is still on a reissue on both Anakin and Kenobi but with armor but definitely not animated

In the later Clone Wars series, Anakin just wore his Revenge of the Sith costume.....so a Clone Wars release of Anakin, in a realistic style, would surely just be the old Anakin figure rolled out for re-issue in a different box?
I would agree with others here that the reason for doing these in a realistic style is to capitalise once again on already existing product in new boxes.

The realistic design is surely Hayden and Ewan headsculpts.....that have already been made by Hot Toys, though arguably they would have to shorten the hair on the Hayden sculpt if they went with an armoured version
But why bother when you can re-sell the figure as is under the Clone Wars banner?.

I'm assuming they'll come out with General Kenobi and Skywalker variants rather than reissues. Didn't Anakin wear like a blue outfit in the series?
