With some of the other updates - like Mark 7 and Mark 5 - the new figures blew the old ones out of the water. There was no questioning whether the new figure was worth the price to upgrade. Not so with this one. Just looking at the side-by-side comparison pic, I may even prefer the previous...
The HPP armors are the only thing that would get me back into collecting Hot Toys now. The last one we got was announced over 5.5 years ago though and it was a shades which was a repaint of Shotgun. The last with a completely new mold I believe was actually Shotgun which was over 7.5 years ago...
Not everyone wants to jump through hoops and deal with site errors and issues during working hours to order a figure. And not everyone wants to pay a markup because Hot Toys limited the numbers for this figure. You're thrilled because you got the figure and you may have other figures you want...
I don't think it's the same situation generating different perspectives. You got the figure. Those that have a different perspective, probably weren't able to get the figure.
It's been years since they offered 13%, 30%, etc off deals on Hot Toys figures. And now it's discounts + free shipping to try to get rid of excess inventory and they are still having trouble moving some figures. It just goes to show they are making way too many of these and charging too much. So...
I remember reading the thread for the original release after it went live on sideshow and trying to decide wether or not I wanted this - and it went on waitlist within a couple of hours.
I missed out on this one because the price was too high. I ended up getting the other three at heavy...
Arms on the original were part of an inner body suit that was separate as well - and less noticeable than this one due to the material. They seem to be able to hide the gap pretty well if posed right (so not really an issue), but they are really obvious in some shots.
Yeah, I didn't mean to literally use the same suit. We've seen many examples of recent figures that use cloth like fabric that have excellent articulation. We've also seen suits that use the same material as this new stealth cap that more accurately captured a cloth like aesthetic. For me, this...
There have been numerous Hot Toys figures that use fabric and have much better posability than the original stealth cap. Upper body posability on concept, infinity war, 2012, and Endgame are good, but I can barely get the legs to move forward on any to get a really good action pose. If they...
I have the original stealth as well. I'm not saying it was better. The actual outfit wasn't bad - the proportions and posability was not good. Headsculpts have never really ever been painted as good as the proto. The suit on the proto in this case doesn't even look good - I would have preferred...
over 8 years since the original and we get a version with a suit that is a huge step back from what we had. And the proportions still don't look right on the new version.
No, but Hot Toys has done a good job of convincing people it is. A lot of people equate heavier to higher quality and are willing to pay a premium for it.
