I must admit I did not grow up with 60's Batman nor does it resonate with me however I can still feel all your pain for this figure not being released.

No announcements and no word or even a mention since that proto was shown years ago, as far as I know. From time to time I check back here for any signs of life on this perfect looking Joker. I like reading others' hope this sees the light of day. I've messaged HT about it with no reply. What a waste.

A tleast Hallmark has been doing us right the last few years.

HT never answer messages as far as I can tell. Their communication with customers is abysmal!

25 yrs ago this month : Cesar RIP......

Cesar , Burgess and Sanders were already veterans when they did Batman

It's sad coming to this thread and seeing what could have been. If HT ever release something close to the prototype on page 1 of this thread it would be the figure of that particular year.

Alfred : "Truer words were never spoken"

If they finally make this hopefully the rerelease Batman and robin.. really kills me they not milking this line soooo much fun and incredible stuff from the show and the movie.

Why would they rerelease Batman and Robin when they didn't sell well? Hot Toys is not in business to release shelf warmer figures. They would have milked the line if the two figures they actually did release actually sold great but that was not the case. The customers are the reason we don't have more figures from this line.

:exactly:

Perhaps they made too many? Because that use to be the case more than it is now.

Reeve Supes comes to mind. He sold great they just made too many.

Anyway, this would sell as well (or better) than a lot of SW figures. (ST figures, TLJ Leia etc)

Edit:
After taking a peak at SS it would appear HT has a problem with bad stock in general right now. Tons of figures nobody really wants.

And tbh i'm kinda happy about that. Perhaps it will shake things up away from Disney a bit.

I kind of wonder if it was Robin that hurt the line. Like if it launched with Batman and Joker would it have sold more? They're the dynamic duo but people kiss the ground Jokers have walked on.

Joker figures sell. Another frustrating side to this Romero figure clusterf*#k. I would be absolutely stunned if they ever release this figure at this point. I remember reading all these online articles about how crazy lifelike the sculpt was and couldn't wait to order one.

That'll show me.

Since this will never get made wondering about the Tweeterhead version - is it good enough to serve as substitute for a HT version of the Romero Joker? or does the statue aspect look too different from the figure nature of the HT 1966 Batman?

The duo took forever to sale because customers were over flooded with DARK KNIGHT and MARVEL stuff, they were hot back then over nostalgia . Plus I think if the 66 batmobile was released more people would have jumped on it. Too bad blitzway couldn’t get the license and make 1or 2 figures a year be nice.

I seen photos of the hot Toys next to the TH Catwoman. You can tell a difference between both kinda obvious since hot Toys paint apps are more realistic. But as a collection I think all the TH statues look really nice.

How does anyone on this forum know if they sold well or not? Just cause they didn't sell out right away?
Maybe they made 10,000 figs, and it took forever to sell them. If they sell 8000 figs but it takes years, is that less successful than selling out a run of 5000 figs quickly?

I agree! Plus I always look at it that “if it sold out, and you have to get it from eBay” it must of been a good enough seller. Even if it had to get marked down from sideshow that’s really up to them to push products because it’s their business. A lot of marvel stuff isn’t selling out fast.. does this mean hot Toys won’t make no more marvel characters?

Well there's a lull right now I think. I don't even know of any DC movies coming up besides Wonder Woman '84. Something like this might spark some interest; especially considering the Comic/TV inspired Wonder Woman release.

Star Wars has a lull and then they jumped to Director Krennic. I don't think they need Batman a re-release, definitely not Robin; but I'm someone who got into the 1/6 game later who might be up for a Romero Joker just by himself and may want Batman too. The proto of this looked pretty amazing, so that helps a lot.
