XM is doing a 1/6 Rebirth costume, although that will still cost you around $400.
Yeah the XM 1/6 statue looks pretty good too, but if the prices are that similar, may as well get the larger PF, which looks a bit better imo. It’s why I’m hoping sideshow makes a 1/6 figure, since those tend to run at about $220-240. Quality may not be as good as the PF, but it would save a couple hundred bucks.

Got my shipping notice, inbound Saturday. Can't wait to get this guy. I think its gonna be a long while before Id want another Superman. His portrait, physique and suit with the S symbol is pretty much a perfect representation of the Man of Steel for me without going too extreme with a musclebound design. I liked the mixed media version, but thought his portraits looked like he was nearing closer to senior citizenship, than being in his prime, like this fully sculpted one.

With all this talk of the 1/6 xm studios pieces, I do still see them as a viable option despite the price. If there was a decent batman to complement the others

Just got this delivered today... Generally pretty happy with the final product. No issues. A few things not to my taste though. First and foremost, I will say that the skin tone is WAY darker than I would have wanted. He looks as if he has been in Mexico vacationing for the last six months. I don't really know what they were thinking... Yeah, it's that dark, but strangely doesn't show up that bad in pictures. Second, the cape look pretty cheap. I don't mind the idea of a fabric cape but this attempt is a fail IMO. Third, his hair has too much blue in it. I'd prefer it just be black or dark.

Yeah' next to the Superman PF you can see he does have that George Hamilton Tan.The Base looks pretty cool.Too bad about the Cape but overall he looks good.

He looks ok to me. Glad you are happy with him but he looks way too matte to me. The proto has some nice specular pop and the production has none of that. Tones are def too dark and the worst part is the same with the WW production photos...face just drops in personality like x10. Eyes esp just look so flat and expressionless compared to the proto. I feel like I could live with the flat body paint if the face was closer to proto. in any case, I still prefer the first Supes PF but its a shame because this one had insane potential and classic SSC falls short.

The fabric cape kept me from ordering it... I guess his super tan face is to match Lex's really tan face

Awesome comparison shots. I find myself leaning more now to the first PF than this new one, even though I don't care for the cloth material on his suit. For me, it seems like the first one has more pros than the other. Now you got me rethinking this.

I own both PFs. IMO they are from two different lines. The OG Superman is a much simpler piece due to the limitations of hand sculpting at the time. Much like all of the original Sideshow DC PFs. Where the new Superman is brimming with detail from head to toe.
They both have their place and I wouldn't part with either, but if I had to choose - the new PF line is absolutely stunning in person.
I do think they should finish the OG Justice League under a banner such as "Legacy" or "Legends" And heavily use hand sculpting and mixed media to match.
