I would guess that would happen as mass produced hand painted eye shadow would be hard to replicate to that fashion.
They should of changed the face on her and make it like the art print.

I was VERY much hoping for it to look like the art print, but I am still happy with what we got. It surprised me when I saw the same sculpt, but, at the same time, I was relieved that they hadn't given us a horrible looking alternate portrait. I know a lot of people have complained about not liking the second portrait, but I'm wondering if it is simply because they feel cheated that it was just a hair switch. If it had been shown first, I wonder how many of them would have thought it was great, and then when the original was revealed as the alternate, would have said they didn't like that one.

Not to be too negative, but unfortunately Sideshow rarely ever produces female pieces where their facesculpts match their respective art prints.

This is true, Captain Marvels was pretty close, it’s the only Sideshow art print I actually bought, all the other ones I own are from regular comic artists that are hand signed.

I would've liked to have the second portrait exactly like the print, but I still like it. And your theory sounds plausible.

Hope this sends a strong message to SSC that they really need to make sure the support system for Rogue is up to par in the production piece.

That really isn't a good sign as I don't feel confident that ss has figured out how to engineer this, despite already deciding on a price to sell it at. I feel they will try to come up with a solution which also runs a profit which might mean it's not as strong as it should be.

The saw blade arm and Rogue's arm need to be one piece and made of metal. That's it, end of story. No need to consult engineering masterminds for some elaborate system that won't work and they won't use anyway. Attach the arm at the shoulder with a really strong magnet or a deep pin.
They think running some rod all the way through this is going to make it sound. It won't. Either the rod will be too thin and do nothing to support the weight, or it will actually be too thick and there will not be enough resin surrounding it (like at her wrist) which will make the resin crack and splinter.

Was really hoping to see this one at NYCC but it’s not on display. I asked Susan about it and she said “Unfortunately Rogue didn’t make it to NY.” Now we know that isn’t true but I didn’t want to call her out on that. Just hoping there wasn’t an “engineering issue” on this. I want to get this one but hope it stands the test of time at this price.

Only way to ensure stability is to have Rogue be made of vinyl instead of polystone. It’ll turn a lot of collectors off but I don’t see a metal rod holding a polystone body long term like that.

A steel rod could easily hold her if done correctly, however Sideshow is spotty in this area, she also could have broke because somebody knocked her over or dropped her, she was displayed all through SDCC so who know what really happened. It’s also a prototype so who knows what they used to support the statue.
