Just be greatful that you're not an international collector located outside the US.

When I first started collecting 4 years ago, regular premium formats from my local retailer were around $550 AUD. Now they're about $1,000 AUD.

This is due to a falling exchange rate, and of course Sideshow's regular price increases. And it would be far worse if I collected Exclusives direct from Sideshow.
 
I was getting exclusives delivered for less than $400 in 2014, now the rogue maquette ex will cost me almost $1300. It's ********.

One of my first pieces was the Batman PF, and at the time Popcultcha had that listed for $550 AUD in 2014/15. I wasn't looking at Sideshow.com at the time, so I have no idea what the Ex would've cost. I just assumed it would be more.

For the new Rogue Maquette I've again ordered the regular from Popcultcha as I would have to pay about another 50% to get the Ex direct from Sideshow.

It's $891 AUD (after member discounts) against the estimated $1,300 AUD (probably more) from Sideshow to ship it to me. Makes it hard to get Exclusives sometimes.

They’ve reached car & house payment level, it’s been hard to buy when that money can go towards something more important

Very true, the thing is that even without the rising costs of making it and inflation and Chinese labour going up etc, they will still price in a way that they make a nice profit. As costs are going up, less people are buying, so they increase the prices to compensate. Vicious cycle and this is why we get the same characters over and over
 
Its the same pain all around, I think. Prices and costs are getting way too crazy.
 
My wife who's Vietnamese, I asked her thoughts on this and compared to the sculp shown as SDCC and her comment is that her eye brows are way to high and just looks like she's got a ***** face on vs angry face. We both prefer the other head sculpt. If I pick this up I would only do so if I can cut the cost down significantly with my Sideshow reward points I've been saving but even then...Why did they go and **** with it. I don't hate it it's just inferior to the first sculpt.

Many people agree with you but sideshow are sideshow and they will still sell a lot of these

Oh man, I know! If I was paying international prices, I would have never gotten into collecting in the first place.

Exactly.

What it does for me and I'm sure other collectors is makes me limit myself to only a few statues here and there and being extremely selective as well. While I'd like to have maybe (and these are just examples) an emma, Psylocke, mystique, I'm not spending 600$ on them when I have to be selective and rather spend my money on better characters for me.

I'm just happy I got those characters at much cheaper prices. These new ones look awesome but I can't do the current pricing. Something would have to be AMAZINGLY necessary for my collection at this point. The only thing on the horizon might be the Cable PF they teased...
 
I realy understand all you guys complaints and disappointment. I'm in a weird place where I missed all classic SS release but actually prefer the new ones.

I prefer this psylocke over the old one and some other 1/6 statues. Price sucks when i compare this to my first PF power girl which was 399(!!). So ill just suck it up and get this to go with the new wolverine. Then its a 3 way battle between cable, gambit and whatever other xmen they have planned.

Then the wait continues for a great batman and superman in1/4. Sigh

I don’t know about that, Dark Phoenix, Ray and others have been out for a while and are still available for purchase and they aren’t ugly statues, I think Sideshow is starting to shoot itself in the foot here.
 
What did they do to the portrait :thud:

It was odd in the first place, I started to get used to it and now boom, this seems way off mark. They should of just redid it instead of trying to modify the original. Errr...this makes me so mad.
 
Not horrible but I did like the first portrait more even from the get go. At that price I'll wait, still think the figure overall is nice.

Has this the original portrait I would have ordered, even at that price.
