It's a very good Vader, best so far in 1:6 imo, but as usual it is not perfect. The things off on this one seems easy things to have fixed in preproduction tho, it almost looks lazy to not go all the way.

I'll be happy with this though and wont replace it with the rotj one unless like said before the 1:4 scaled down perfectly.

Could we get some more info/pic on esb cloak vs the R1 one? what was the difference besides bottom not sewn properly, different material?

I was really excited about this and at first glance I thought this vader was the "one" but the more I look at it the more I start seeing all the inaccuracies I might just cancel my pre order and go with the 1/4 Vader

Can take better pics tomorrow if there's anything in particular people want to see, i don't think you can move the esb chest box seems stuck in place, RO is 100% bigger and imo a better scale with Tarkin, troopers and Luke, RO cape is way better don't know why they didn't use the same material, esb can't look down at all.

Don't have the RO Vader (Sold it NIB after this one's preorder went up, go figure) I think this is what Wor Gar meant about the skirt fabric. It has a separate sheet material and the satin robe material. The are not connected at the bottom and the sheen material is not hemmed at all.View attachment 423951

I wonder why HT now insists on putting that little stud on Vader’s belt just to the left of the buckle. I know the v2 ANH Vader has it; can’t recall if R1 has it as well. V1 ANH doesn’t have it.

Ok that looks cheap. dang

No. I meant the material the cape and robe (tunic) and made of. Its that dull black, kind of spongy material, right? Doesn't want to hold its folds well, kind of billows out in places.

It drapes well enough, but its very difficult to shape. Water treatment works until the fabric dries and it goes right back to its original shape. Basically the same material as ANH v1 and ANH v2 Vaders had.

Wow, thanks for all the pics

My conclusion is that they completely screwed up the headsculpt on the ESB. In that last video review it looks like it would in "real life" without a professional photographer trying to hide the flaws. It looks very bad from far away. The face is too long, the dome is huge with the wrong flare, the eyes are not correctly shaped. Too many issues to count them all. He looks that way in every picture and video. Can't blame the lens distortion. The Rogue One Vader looks way more like Vader than this (not perfect but closer)

For the rest of the body the Rogue One seems to beat it in every aspect except the cod piece (and even there the ESB cod piece looks like a piece of plastic)

I'm pretty sure I'm cancelling this and only buying a 1:6 Vader when they scan the head from a prop eventually (or if they manage to scale down the 1:4 perfectly). I'd get the 1:4 if it wasn't so huge

good news is that the RO Vader probably increased in value just for the cape alone

Starting to think I might just do what others have done-- put the SS parts on my RO Vader and call it a day. Since I'm not really seeing how it would look any more inaccurate than this "official" ESB Vader with all it's issues.

And then I'll just try to pick up an ANH Vader later on so I can have that look.
