I disagree. The brown PF is elevated by the bridge he's on. The new PFs base with the Sentinel hand is far shorter. If you look at both portraits, they look to be the same size. Don't let the different sized bases throw you off. I'm sure that once you get this piece in hand, it'll look just fine.

Agreed. He is low to the ground. Mean, like a wolverine.

Absolutely agree that this piece came out exceptional!

Love that this piece is in scale with the brown Wolverine PF.

some great pics on FB

He looks tiny compared to iron man :rotfl

Seriously though this statue is perfection

I really want this but would want confirmation that a deadpool is being made in the same line. It already seems Cable is being made so having all 3 together at this quality would be amazing.

Deadpool eh... Lets see if SS comment on this

Haha yea. Hey real quick, if I have ss rewards applied to a pre-order and cancel it do I get those reward points back? I keep looking around and cant get a straight answer.

It’s 1/4 of a 5’3” character :lol

SS could have easily fudged the scale a little to produce a piece who size was more impressive and commensurate with the price they were planning to charge for it.

But then I don't know. Are fans vocally upset with SS for fudging the scale of Juggernaut downward to better fit into their Ikea shelving?

There are only hard and fast rules until SS chooses to break them for some reason or other.

Given his pose, he would likely be out in front of any group collection display. He could have easily been scaled "up" to 17" and still looked just fine next to all the other characters who, in almost every single instance, would be posed standing straight up on a base and would therefore look appropriately taller anyway.

No thanks. Wolverine is a short runt in the comics and I'll take him the same way with my statues. He isn't the 6 foot Hugh Jackman Wolverine from the FOX movies. I'll take my Wolverine statues as comic accurate as possible. Short, stout, mean, and dangerous works for me.

This why companies are reluctant to listen to customers. Bad ideas...

From what I understand, SSC changed their policy recently where they will give back your reward points if you cancel your order. Only the NRD is not refunded. The only time the NRD is refunded is if your order is delayed.

I suggest you contact SSC's customer service just to verify that.

You can still have short, stout, mean and dangerous and still have a slightly larger statue that merits the $570 price tag- as opposed to something that is closer in overall dimensions to typical 1/5 scale statues which usually come in more than $100 less.

Not everyone purchasing these things collects every single character associated nor do a good % of the ones who do collect teams and/or associated character display then all bunched up together in one noisy grouping.
For myself, this is pretty much a one off. I won't be buying any other X-Men or X-Men villains to display with him (unless they ever kick out a killer Byrne style Storm or Kitty Pryde of which the odds are likely 0)

Again, the pose he is in would mask a slightly larger scale even if he were in a group setting. 17" hunched over is still going to look "runtier" than 22" standing up.
Besides, stout is a relationship of width to height, not height of one character to another character.

You are speaking in terms of what you want. You don't speak for, or know what others want. PFs are 1/4 scale. I want a 1/4 scale Wolverine when I PO a Wolverine PF. I do display my statues together, so I don't care much when pieces are out of scale. I want a 1/4 Wolvie in my 1/4 collection. That comes out to a 15 3/4 inch tall Wolverine. It's as simple as that. As far as Sideshow pricing is concerned, that got out of hand when we crossed the $500 mark for a standard sized PF. If you feel you're not getting any value for your money, the smart play would be not to buy products you feel are overpriced. No one forced you to buy this PF.

Oh, by the way, I know what stout means. Wolverine has a stout build. He has a good deal of girth to him. You don't have to make him taller than 1/4 scale in order to have a stout looking Wolverine statue. This PF is spot on as is.
