Yondu had a more significant role in GOTG V2, he'd be more likely to get a HT release before Nebula.

Right ... tell ya what, when HT does Maria Hill and Pepper Potts and Coulson, it's totally okay for me and others to expect them to make Nebula who's already been in 2 movies and will be in a third and probably even have a significant role there.

I get the distinct feeling Nebula won't survive to see another movie, so hopefully this is the one we'll be getting a figure from.

My theory is Howard told one of his students to make a 6/1 figure as a joke, and they took it seriously.

It's hard to see what shirt the figure has on under the jacket, he could be wearing the red one that comes with the deluxe. Even though Star Lord is popular figure, the GOTG 2 was just released, so I doubt HT would make another so soon after that one. HT did that for only one other character that I'm aware of at the moment and that's Darth Vader, Star Lord is no Vader.

There was a promo picture released early April that showed a Star-Lord figure with the charcoal shirt he wears in IW.

HT also did it just recently for Rocket. Same movie.

I believe Hot Toys won’t re-release every figure shown as some are likely just for promotional purposes.

But I believe they’ll release Star-Lord again (same sculpt and jacket, different shirt and boots) just to have all the Guardians available in one line, with Gamora and Drax probably having been pushed to the IW line.

That would explain why they have pretty much the same Rocket available with Teenage Groot.

I'm just really disappointed they haven't done anything to Drax. He looks terrible in that video.

Pants too big around the waist, big gap between arm and body at the shoulder. Looking very thin.

Man, surely it's not a huge effort to do an improved upper body and arms.

Lot of work to make brand new sculpts, molds, etc.

And I don’t think it was ever substantiated, but there might’ve been some truth to the rumor that Vol. 1 Drax took so long because of licensing/appearance approvals.

Re-releasing the same body/sculpt would probably mean it can just sail through approval, perhaps.

Plus it’s just more cost effective this way and they’re banking on people buying it to complete their lineup like the first one.

If I was Disney my final negotiation would have been OK go with that body for GotG 1/2, but you must make an improvement for IW & GotG 3.

I'll wait till GotG3 if I have to !

Hopefully we could still get Ronan through Captain Marvel.

I wouldn't expect it, given that with the solo films, Hot Toys doesn't seem too interested beyond the main characters (I'm still surprised we're actually getting Killmonger).

I don't have any GotG figures, I'd like to have one of each eventually but Drax needs a major upgrade...
