Full figures went out awhile ago. I'm still waiting for our expansion heads to ship.

I am too. I checked my account the other day, and it says “order complete”, so I’m assuming they sent mine, but I emailed them to ask if that actually is the case (haven’t heard anything back... of course).

Got the pair today from BBTS. Great set; Sam is a little underwhelming but Frodo is amazing. Anyone know why Asmus went with a plastic dagger for Sam?

Crazy how bbts still hasn't gotten their full stock in but I'm done waiting. Amazing sculpt. Much MUCH better! 20180330_183813.jpg

"My dear Frodo, Hobbits really are amazing creatures. You can learn all that there is to know about their ways in a month and yet, after a hundred years, they can still surprise you."

This sculpt just blows the old one away. Not like it was hard to do but it's just so much better! It's crazy. Thank you Asmus for taking the time to make this one better. He deserved it!

Bring on Gimli!

Oh and the head expansions for Frodo and Sam. I need to replace my first Frodo head. It's almost embarrassing to look at now next to this one.IMG_20180330_225927_421.jpgIMG_20180330_225805_892.jpg

Still waiting on the Frodo and Sam head sculpt expansions...I’m grateful they’ve done better versions but how long do I have to wait to actually receive them? Have the even started shipping out the head sculpts yet?

Originally they said March but not it sounds like April.

I just hope they remember to add the necks for them since the new heads don't include sculted necks.

was not sure if I was going to go all in on the hobbits, but got the new Sam seprate to test the waters. Love it, great figure with wonderful, and I forgot how small the hobbits were, but love the scale with my other figures

Holy ****! I hope they dont screw that up when they send out the expansion packs! I only just noticed that both new and old head sculpts for Merry and Pippen are neckless. I don't want to undo everything to see how the neck actually connects to the body.

If original Frodo and Sam sculpts had attached necks, I'm not sure how Asmus will do it. Perhaps the expansion sets are a separate manufacturing run from the new slim versions to attach necks to the sculpts? Is that what is causing the delay?

Either way, it'll be interesting to see. I have no idea how I would connect a neck and then the sculpt if they're separate. I guess the neck joint to the body would look bad, but would be covered by clothing. I just hope it's not a ***** to connect.

Yup. It would be another mess. I'm just hoping they learned from the Aragorn mess.

I'm sure they learned from the Aragorn situation. I hope so, anyway. They figured that out partway through the orders for that one and started sending them with neck pegs.

Unfortunately mine was in the first batch and I never got a neck peg with my Aragorn. I reached out to them through their website (and on here) four or five times but never heard anything. (I'm not on Facebook.)

(Incidentally, does anybody know which neck peg works best for Aragorn? I don't mind buying it, but I want to buy the right one. I've got a handful of pegs in my parts bin, but none fit.)

That's a shame. I've only had to email their customer service a couple times before, and each time they've responded within a day or two. I had a missing button on one of the Hobbit cloaks, and they sent me a replacement button very quickly. Would've thought they'd send you a neck peg for sure, especially if you ordered the expansion set directly from them. Are you using the customer service email that's shown on their website? That worked for me.

Hi guys.

I am intrigued by that "Aragorn situation". I am trying to guess: Asmus' Aragorn v1 had 1 (or 2) neckless head(s), the body was supposed to have at least a neck articulation with some peg that would connect those to the neck itself. If you buy the expansion, that's certainly because you own v1, that is, you have the peg. Hence what do you need a second peg for?? Did the new head had a different socket? Anything that you couldn't fix by placing a bit of, say, paper on the socket, so that the peg would tightly fit?

Thanks for any insight on this boys!

I think the original peg did not fit the new sculpt. So they needed to include a new peg. Luckily my new peg came with the second batch of expansion head sculpts.

Thank you again dude.

Anyway, 2 more little questions:

1) What's that comb you use on the video? Something you say you got with HT's Chewbacca?

2) Why couldn't you just use the neck peg on the original head? What's that about "inbuilt" pegs?

Thanks again!

m.

Here's my review video of the new Aragorn sculpt. You can see thst the old sculpt had an inbuilt peg but the new sculpt has a female peg joint. So they needed to include a neck peg to connect it to the body.
