The other problem I have also is that Thanos isn't meant to be the same size as Hulk. I know I'm being comic-picky here but it's the little things like this that they could have really tried to stick true on but chose to go a different route. He should be like 4-5 inches shorter imo. I think the MCU is clocking them both in at like 7 feet.

Yeah the size change is very strange. He 6ft 7 in the comics, and in the previous movies. Suddenly he’s half a foot taller? That’s so odd. And the skin color changes are weird. They did that with hulk too. Hard to have the believability that it’s all the same universe when this stuff happens(probably why no one else did it before).

Yeah totally agree, all height details and maybe even a 3D model of him was probably given by Disney/Marvel. Makes total sense.

As for this version I'm cool with it. He looks great. I like how they've made his jaw wider at the bottom. Does't look so much like Homer Simpson any more. The sculpt itself on closer inspection looks great.

As much as I originally thought I needed an armoured version, this one with gauntlet shows he doesn't need armour, that gives him more power IMO.

For all we know if he wears armour in Avengers 4 for example, he may not have the gauntlet any more.

Lightup gauntlet, second arm and second headsculpt. This might be the one to get.

I'm starting to doubt he'll even be in A4, seems to me like they want to get his part of the story out of the way and plan to move on right away.

I think they could have left him at somewhere between Iron man and Hulk. But certainly visually smaller than Hulk. He seems to tower above Iron Man.

edit : posted at same time as tys1977 :lol

Yeah the odd part is they had the same height 3d stuff first time around. Just weird.

Anyway..despite all that I think it’s a cool figure. I like two heads. The swap out arm is a nice touch. Look forward to getting the figure.

Maybe all the power from the stones made him grow a bit ??

Yeah, I think I'm in for this version. Am also loving the material they chose for that top he has with blue and gold.

Who said corduroy pants were out ?? :lol

Do not care for this dressed up purple Hulk figure.
The wait for armored Thanos continues.

Looks good and I really want a gauntlet Thanos but I think I may take my chances and see if they come out with an armored version.

Really looking forward to see what the angry/yelling sculpt will look like. (looks like an angry/yelling sculpt to me).

Would also be cool if they held the stones in magnetically so they pull into place like in the trailer. Could also pose him with more or less stones depending on the point in the movie.

He looks decent but I'm not blown away. When I saw the first pic, I thought he was a pvc figure and had to read the fine print to confirm he was a sixth scale fully articulated one. Looks, indeed like a big purple Hulk. I was fine with Hulk being the way he is but somehow I wanted more articulation and possibility from Thanos. It's not a pass yet but I need to see the film first and like others, see if he lives up to the hype.

As for the "armored version" everyone keeps saying they're waiting for, I feel like you're setting yourself up for disappointment. I feel like what we've seen of that HAS to be from a brief flashback. I mean, in the commercial, he's holding a toddler Gamora hand. I bet that's 10 minutes of the movie, tops.

And in another scene he's wearing the armor with the gauntlet that has 2 stones as he's taking the helmet off... so... but I do agree it seems unlikely either way.

I like the character design done for Thanos by Andy Park here -- I really don't like this outfit though. Massively underwhelming in my opinion. He's just a bald guy in a wife beater and some poorly fitting pin-striped pants. My fingers are crossed that he dons the trailer armour we've seen maybe for the final fight or something -- maybe we'll see that as a TF exclusive. I'll reserve final judgment until I see the film. But right now this is a big fat meh.

I will of course still be picking him up regardless, because at this point I am no longer in control. The collection is. :rotfl

Might be an unpopular opinion but I much prefer the GotG version to this one so no need for me to “upgrade.” The size change is a bit weird though.
