Been lurking these forums for a while now, love to browse through it in work, but honestly what a tough crowd . I've seen and owned numerous XM and Prime 1 pieces that have been absolutely shockingly poor and I've never seen those statues get anything like the hate some of SideShows stuff gets

I actually like this and intend on getting it. Sure there's a few things I'd like to change but I usually feel that way about every statue.

Don't be one of those who would see 3 or maybe 4 Sideshow threads and think that everyone's unforgiving towards them. A lot of these people do song praises when Sideshow deserves it. Have you seen the Bane PF thread? New Wonder Woman PF thread? Batgirl PF? Yeah.

Also, I can not speak for XM as I don't have any and I'm not a big fan of some of thwir sculpts and/or designs, but can you tell which Prime 1 pieces you think are poor? Also, most of the comments on here regarding this new Batman PF pertains to the design of the suit. I might be wrong, but I have not seen a Prime 1 statue that's not based on comics, video games, animation, or movies and so far I think most of them are very accurate translation of the source material, design-wise.

I think not lol. This one don’t have much base to it. That suit is hideous from the waist down. His thighs look strange. The outfit is terrible. Surely not XM standards lol. They need a redesign on the legs but oh it’s Sideshow no going back period!

What the hell happened? Just give us the costume in the art print. HATE the look of his legs. Like he's wearing chaps. Get rid of the ridiculous pads on his legs, put some black trunks on him, and color his legs the same as his upper body and this could've looked solid. He has an Arkham Origins lower body going on and an Arkham Asylum upper body to go with it. I absolutely love the portrait. I can't stand these overly redesigned costumes by sideshow. When is Igo going to learn that they just look terrible and are a horrible idea?

Still can not see the hate, This PF looks Badass. If it was New 52 or Rebirth, it wold be a hard pass for me, so happy they went in their own direction. If you are looking for more of a current comic accurate Bats, Prime 1 and SSC already have that in the pipeline. (in 1/4!!!) And I personally think the New 52 is miles ahead of the Rebirth suit.

To sit here and nit pick every design element, the New 52 version has Bat head shaped knee caps and lines of an alien spaceship. The rebirth suit has a purple cape with a bat shaped belt! This thing could have been horrendous.

Sorry, but I disagree. Yeah, the Rebirth and New 52 costumes suck. However, that's a very low bar to set. On top of that, the art print on this piece was a great source for the costume design of this PF. The print had a slightly updated look to his classic costume. Sideshow managed to blow it by insisting on messing up the costume design on the entire lower half of his body. His legs have pads on them and an appearance of chaps being worn. People complaining about the lower half of his body aren't picking or hating on sideshow. They just see the potential of a great looking Batman statue going to waste. I'm a big Bats nut and would've definitely bought this piece if it looked like the art print. As is, it's a pass.

I actually like this and intend on getting it. Sure there's a few things I'd like to change but I usually feel that way about every statue.

To agree with Heubert as well as add, a lot also has to do with Sideshows attitude. Theyre so full of themselves they cant get out of their own way. They don't care about collector's ideas or opinions just their money, and people are finally starting to see this. So when a PF "fails", no one is biting their tongues.

Its kinda funny, ppl hated the N52 suit because it looked armored. Well compared to this, that suit is a blessing.

And for those who compare XM with this... you just cant. XM has ONE Batman with a Samurai theme. If XM had the comic license Ive no doubt they would stick strictly to the source material.

A 1/3 scale P1 piece for $750? Probably more like $1000. I love how casually people like to compare pieces that cost twice as much on this forum like it's no big deal.

The P1 piece is 1/4th scale.

Slept on it. Love the top half. Chest is awesome face is great. I like the pose and the base is just fine. Now i cant unsee the chaps / different texture bottom / crotch. Now when i look at it o see batman wearing pants and a sweater. Too bad.

Good post, After seeing the new Wonder woman and Superman I really feel that the Rebirth suit was the bar to beat. Which IMO this does easily. I completely see the gripe over the Arkham origins style pants, or the big boots, they just dont bother me. So happy he isnt in a Rebirth suit standing on top of an RIP tombstone.

Sure, they ran out of options, lol. Initially they were true. But apples to apples, Im sure XMs first (if ever) comic Bats will be true. Diff here is that SS is purportedly rebooting the line, therefore it SHOULD be a modern or at the very least true to an era comic iteration Bats.

Ya know, it F*ing amazes me how many characters or in this case versions of Batman collectors want, and yet SS says F U we'll make what we want take or leave it.
Like instead of Nightmare Batman or this Batman, where the hell is DKR or a N52 or Rebirth or a Aparo/Breyfogle Bats (something actually from a comic)????

This is why SS gets dumped on when they fail. They think their ideas are better than collectors or source material and they try to think outside the box and fail, but then do it again.

Oh and with China's new tariffs on steel pork and wine, expect SS prices to go up further.

I agree. this "reboot" took a big step in the right direction by making the statue full sculpt sans cape, which is a welcomed relief IMO (I hate the PJs on the previous line). If they'd just make the lower half without the padding and mesh texture I think it would've been a homerun, even without trunks LOL!

Agreed. Stay consistent. They went with an Arkham Asylum looking upper half costume design and then decided to go with a Arkham Origins look for his lower half. It just looks way off. Stick with a uniform look for the entire costume. If he has pads on his legs, he should have them on his upper body. If his upper body looks clean or smooth, keep his legs the same way. This mix and match costume looks terrible and wastes the full potential of this PF.
