It was my impression that Trevor does not sculpt 1:6 for Sideshow anymore.

I thought so. I don’t think he’s done any 1:6 work since before HT put out Bespin Luke.

Don't forget he also did the sculpts for Hoth Han and Luke (which both looked really good until SS cut out the eyes, gave them some crappy paint jobs, and pretty much ruined them).

Yup. The cutting out the eyes system also warped the sculpts a bit. The Han one came out a bit too wide but I thought Grove's original sculpt was nothing short of amazing. Sideshow once a year has a sale on eBay for charity where they sell artist proofs and prototypes. I dream that that original Hoth Han goes up for sale every time I see them announce the sale. Would probably go for a pretty penny.

I think spraying a clear semi-matte paint on the hair of Luke would make a big improvement. It's too shinny as it is so flatting its finish a bit would look great.

Decided to jump in on the Hot Toys bandwagon as I've been after one for a while but never really got drawn to any. Had to pull the trigger on Jedi Luke and Empire Darth though, hoping that'll sate my thirst. Any chance either of these will be released earlier or do Hot Toys generally release when they initially say?

I’ve only been in this a couple of years but Tarkin/Vader seem to be coming way early most everything else has come when they initially said or very close to it if my memory is correct it.

A small few have been coming a bit earlier than expected. Homecoming Spider-Man Stark suit, Bespin Leia, Tarkin/Vader come to mind.

It’s anyone’s guess but what we all have pretty much learned this far is most likely it will be delayed so be patient but if it comes early have funds ready.

Chinese New Year starts next Friday so if Jedi Luke doesn't get released by Hot Toys in the next couple of days, it's probably not coming early. It seemed like they were getting a lot of figures out earlier than expected for a bit there, but I would imagine that anything we don't see in the next few days will probably come out when initially expected.

I cannot decide whether to spring for the HT version or the SS version on this. I know the differences between them, but SS has the Endor accessories, while I think HT has the better head sculpt.

What is the majority opinion here?

Getting the HT; the SS is tempting but I imagine I'll be able to pick up the SS for a while and the HT might sell out.

Get the HT one. No question. You could always get the Endor accessories on Ebay or Toy Anxiety, or simply wait til HT makes the Endor Luke.
