My Venkman review.

Just playing around trying to get them into the pose on the poster. I will try adding Winston but if he doesn't fit anywhere that makes up my mind for me about selling him. Love this look, it's really iconic. I've removed the fat suit from Venkman but not Stantz and Spengler; I'm sure they will be easier to pose when I do. I will have to get someone to make a backdrop that includes the green backdrop from the poster but leaves out the boys.

John, how come Winston is so much more expensive? Is he much rarer or more in demand? Not criticising in deny way, just interested.

I bought the Winston. They said was because they had lost some money on shipping on the original pre-orders last year. Bit annoying but I had only the 3 pack so I jumped.
I am stealing this idea.....

This year she spent a good 200 at DisneyStore.....So it could be anything including Hot Toys.....

Glad I picked up Z still at retail and for low shipping at pretty much the last minute. I have a feeling he'll be the most sought and go for the most on the secondary.
I'm about to start on mine. Already lightened up the skin tone, and it helps the likeness quite a bit I think.

Apples/oranges. Go find the greatest Ghostbusters fan propmaker and ask him to sculpt a 1:1 portrait of Bill Murray. I doubt the portrait would be anywhere near the quality of their props.
And in Mattel’s defense: they’re all completely recognizable. You could show any one of the 5 portraits (Winston got a second from the sequel) to just about anyone and they’d know who they were meant to be. Also, keep in mind that these things sold for $60. Even back then Hot Toys was charging over 3 times as much. Mattel wasn’t trying to be Hot Toys.
I’m the happy owner of both sets. The Mattel figures are grossly inferior to the Blitzway ones but they cost 1/4th the price and were on the market 7 years before the Blitzway sets.
