Nothing boring about this show... Now I want to get a 1/6th arsenal for this figure. Anyone know where I can find a list of the guns he used in the series?

Finished it and loved it. Bring on season 2!

The problem I'm having with the show, is that they are giving Frank a much more righteous justification for what he's doing. This whole conspiracy, etc. etc..
I realize things change, the comics change, and characters change as the years go by, but the Punisher I grew up with was much simpler. His family dies, in a "Wrong place, wrong time" scenario (as opposed to some conspiracy-based targeting), and therefore he kills bad guys, simply because they are bad guys. I feel like Marvel softened up him and Wolverine, because they were becoming popular amongst kids...

He still does that though, not everyone he puts down is tied to his family. Frank is still in the process of becoming the "true" Punisher. He's gotta take out everyone related to their deaths first.

Agreed.

The war against criminals was something he was already doing during Daredevil s1/s2.

The Punisher s1 was after all that. They even show him burning his skull vest.

I can see season 2 starting off the Punisher again considering we get the vest back.

Season 1 was to give him the backstory whilst showing present conflict carried on from his past.

I personally dont want to watch a Punisher series with him just killing off random criminals.

MCU and Netflix Marvel succeeded because they tie everything up in a bigger picture.

In the future I'd like to see Frank and Micro targeting criminal groups and organizations, not just random street punks. An arc where he takes out a human trafficking ring would be awesome, like in Punisher Max.

queston fellas - to those who own both. Is there a big difference between the Mad Skull and Hot Toys version of this figure. I have watched the comparison videos but it appears that both would display nice. Thoughts?

I had the vest from the Mad Skull and the quality is crap compared to the HT version. Not sure of the quality of the rest of the accessories.

I like the Mad Skull head sculpt is better overall as it’s more accurate to the Punisher series now. The paint app will obviously be superior on the HT sculpt.
The mad skull vest isn’t all THAT terrible. Especially from a distance. If the design on the mad skull vest had been painted on rather than a sticker, it would’ve improved the quality more.

I ended up mixing both HT parts and Toys Works.

You can't build a television show around a guy who just decides to kill hundreds people because his family is "in the wrong place at the wrong time". Especially not today.

Thats fine if you're just looking to cast a shadow against a more morally conflicted hero's struggles (ie Daredevil). But if you want the Punisher to carry his own show, people need to be able to root for him on some level.

That means giving him a justification that people can, in some way, even deep down, identify with.

Then the show completely change who the Punisher really is then. He's got one of the most basic background ever. His family gets killed, the system fails him, so he takes matter into his own hands and then just start waging a one man war making it his life mission. I'm into episode 6 now on the show and frankly I'm disappointed by it, considering I'm a HUGE fan of the Punisher, reading his comics ever since I was a kid in the 80s. This whole government conspiracy ruined his back story, him burning his skull vest on episode 1 and then never wearing it again all the way to episode 6 now is stupid. Billy the Beaut Russo backstory completely changed. Punisher getting all friendly and cozy with Karen Page annoys me. The show just doesn't feel like Punisher to me.
