Thanks guys. Think I'll still have to improve the eyes a bit more though. They look fine in hand, but of course the camera seems to pick up and magnify every imperfection.

Hey can I see a daylight shot of your mod.I want to see how her lips and eye color look, if I ever get her, I want to see if the mod is worth it :wink1:

Make sure you get a close up

Looks great, Dave!
Thanks for the moding details too. Mine's in the box for one more week, then I'll keep all that in mind when I get her out.

Awesome work buddy. I'm waiting on mine too, i think i'll do all these mods once i got it. Good job!

Did a bit of work on mine. I lightened the hair and gave her some highlights, made the lips a bit pinker, lightened the eyes slightly, and reddened the nose a bit (since I noticed when rewatching the movie that it was always a bit red). I also loosened up the scarf so I could wrap it more naturally (although beware, it becomes a huge pain to work with when you do).

And when I removed the outfit I found the padded undersuit was riding a little low for some reason, so I lifted it up a bit, which seemed to greatly improve the proportions. And then finally I inserted some padding under the rubber chest to make the bust a bit bigger, since she seemed a bit bigger there in the movie.

I'm still hoping a better custom sculpt will come along for this, but in the meantime the current one is at least working a bit better for me now.

Wonderful work! Can you share any techniques and products used?

Just picked up yesterday, excellent figure especially the outfit. Now I want K-2SO [emoji38]

Thanks! Hard to think of any real techniques to share though. I just use cheap craft store paint, and then it's just a matter of building up slowly with thin washes of paint. I also try to always mix a bit of gray into the lighter colors, to tone them down and make them more realistic.

And when working on the eyes I wear one of those magnifying headsets so I can see the detail better. Usually if you can make them look good at that range, they'll look even better from a normal distance.

Got my second deluxe today.

First thing I did was look at the hair, and compare it to the first figure.

If anything, the second one is a tiny bit darker than the first. Same dark brown base coat, but a little less of the chestnut dry brushing.

Still, it's such a lovely figure from head to toe.

Re: 1/6 Hot Toys Rogue One: JYN ERSOf

This has to be one of my favorite figures that I’ve gotten recently. She looks great in terms of the outfit and the head sculpt looks better in person. Also it’s a small thing but the box for the deluxe edition is fantastic. I wish we’d get nice art boxes like that for all Star Wars figures. My only minor complaint is the base. First off I won’t use the card stock piece that’s supposed to go on top. The black looks better but is a bit plain. Also my name plate seems to fall off easily.

HT have lifted their box game to a new level. I always thought they were impressive, and to be honest I wouldn't normally be interested in packaging but have you seen the Guardians Vol2 boxes. Awesome !! Then with these Rogue One deluxe figures. Really impressive !

There must be something about packaging style that’s mandated by Lucasfilm/Disney because it seems like a lot of Star Wars figures and statues come in the standard black and gray box with a picture of the figure, Star Wars logo, and figure name. It seems like maybe they worked around that with Jyn by having the standard style as a slipcase and the nicer art box underneath.

Both Jyn figures are awesome (I have the Imperial Disguise version myself) but my OCD is a bit triggered by the fact that her nameplate just says "Jyn" instead of "Jyn Erso." Every other character with a last name has it printed on their plate so I find it a little annoying that they didn't stay consistent with Jyn, lol.

My deluxe arrived with a broken quadnocular strap... I ordered from BBTS not sure how they are about replacing parts, anyone have any experience with them and replacement parts??? Worst case ill just have to buy a replacement from Toy Anxiety

BBTS has impeccable customer service. Have always been very friendly and helpful from personal experience.

I've never had to get a replacement part through them, but exchanges and returns have never been a problem.

I think you might be able to go directly to Sideshow and ask for a replacement part because you bought it from an authorized retailer. There's an option for that on the Sideshow help site I believe. Never done it before.

I have in the past had another retailer (SecretCompass) get a replacement part from Sideshow for me, which I really appreciated.

What scene does the box art of her come from? I can't remember her hair looking like that in the film.
