Awesome Stickman. Do you reckon you could post some wider shots of the all on one wall version. So I can see how you did it ?

I hope this helps. I didn't fully assemble my dio as I wanted to change the walls around for various shots, here are some pictures for you to get an idea. Today's my birthday so the wife and I will be gone today, so the shots are quick. JAZZ, will you be selling extras or upgrade kits? I would like a wall with 4 compartments to add extra vatiations.

These are not the droids we're looking for on Tantive IV

Great thanks Stickman, exactly what I needed !

Happy birthday man !

Constructive criticism here. The decals look like decals because they are decals. (of course)
However, they draw attention to themselves due to how they are printed on glossy paper and how the light interacts with their texture and their surrounding surface.
The one over the door is the biggest offender. This could be easily be solved by using a matte paper to print. Just a suggestion. Love the diorama!

Very cool stuff! Actually, I have expansion kits with walls that have 6 boxes ready to ship

How does using matte decals stop them from looking like decals? Maybe everyone is ok that decals are used, matte or not?

I figured someone would get their feathers ruffled so I hesitated to say anything. The matte finish doesn't create a glare when the light hits. Think of a glossy or a matte photo. Yes they will always be decals as I mentioned but there are ways to make them less dominant such as "knocking them down" with a matte paper. Just a suggestion.

No, my feathers aren’t ruffled. My point is if you are going to complain about the look, go all the way and recommend something that actually fixes the thing you are bothered by. Half measures don’t seem like the right approach.

Matte doesn't reflect light, as he already said. The dio is awesome. Merely observation.

I already gave you the fix. Print it in matte.
Stop pointing fingers. hahaa

It's a good looking out observation and I don't think Jazz would take offense. He's pretty meticulous about these things so I'm sure there's a reason for the glossy decal or maybe he'll say thanks and get it on the second run. No biggie. Doesn't take away from the awesomeness of this thing!

To me it looks like the red lights are behind dark plastic with the shiny decals. It appears to add depth. I am not sure using matte is a fix. It would be nice to see a comparison.

Thanks. The reason I chose gloss that the blacks are deeper and more importantly, because the real things are supposed to be screens, a gloss finish would look more movie accurate.

I was going to post same thing Jazz. Gloss works great. You also get the nice effect of the graduated edges like a shadow box due to the gloss and the weight of the decal - it graduates to the edge of the impression nicely.
