Hey guys, I just got this figure BIB for about $210 :yess::yess::yess::yess:
Is there a thread to the quintessential mods required for the figure?
It looks beast on Owen1313's IG page.

I can't really pinpoint what has been done though. Would like to prepare the materials required before it arrives at my doorstep :D

Congrats!

Not sure if that particular one is repainted, but his putty muscle mod is for sure, not really a diy if you are not skilled.

There's different mods that people do, this one looks like it has a foam padding added underneath and a new cape (not sure which one this one would be, one of the nicer ones I have seen, though) possibly it's been repainted also, might just be the lighting.

I personally wouldn't mod it like this, though. The V of his torso is too inclined, his waist is supposed to be bulky, if you go back a couple of pages the mod Jaxon posted seems like it'd be good. It's best to wait until you get it in hand. To be honest the main reason why most people feel like they should mod theirs is because they haven't twisted and futzed theirs into a good pose, when he's static out of the box he looks awful, but adjust the shoulders, the abdomen crunch etc. makes him look pretty good imo.

I am pretty sure Jaxon, Owen, Tony Mei and unrealtoys know how to pose their bvs batman, and they also have the muscle mods done to their batman. lol

If you are happy with your stock batman, good for you.
There are others who do want some improvement on their batman, Jaxon and Tony Mei are generous enough to share their experience in how to do it.
The choice is yours.

Yeah thats the thing, it's all different ways about it. I'm gonna try and see how it looks stock before I decide on anything. God...the waiting is the worst part.

Is there another way to do it instead of putty? I was thinking of layering eva foam, and cutting it according to whatever body parts I'm doing.

Otherwise, I'll learn sculpting.

Can't believe I'm finally getting this. Been collecting Batman action figures since I was small, and to have the holy grail of all Batman is just insane.

Mods list:
1. Cowl reshape (Water treatment)
2. Extended ankle mod
3. Big Ben mod

Optional:
1. Tricep sculpting
2. Torso padding
3. Thigh sculpting (Vastus Lateralis/Rectus Femoris)

I dont know how to handle the BatButt though hmmm

Yes tlwtw, i did mod the Batman. However I've undone some of the mod. Don't really like him too bulky. Here's the thing, you can mod the body to up to a certain point however it can never be movie accurate because of the skeleton structure is not accurately designed to have Ben's body. You can add foam, add clay, but it's never going to be 100% movie accurate.

It's completely a different thing if you mod the body simply to look awesome. It's not going to be screen accurate, but it's gonna look cool. So i guess you have to figure out what do you want.

Putty mod is more permanent, so I will have it done by a skilled person who has modded lots of them. I have the same mod on my bvs superman.

3mm Eva pad or cushion pad are easier and reversible, that is the method Jaxon and Tony Mei have posted.

Cowl reshape---> hot water treatment is the old method, Tony Mei has updated and used the muscle mod to keep the cowl from covering the bat emblem, one stone two birds.

Extended ankle mod --> stock foot pegs are 15mm, I used mos superman 20mm foot pegs, I believe the ones Tony Mei used are 25mm-30mm.

The bat butt---> just cover it with cape. lol

Is it just the MOS ankle pegs that will fit Batflecks? Would you know if say Captain America Strike or Civil War ankle pegs will do the job?

Awesome pics as usual!
You are correct about the muscle mod. It really depends how you do it.
There are only some specific muscle I have targeted to enhance on my bvs batman, not all of them.

Yes, you can also use the foot pegs from Armory batman which are black in color to match your bvs batman.
One major problem is those extended foot pegs tend to make your figure "loose feet", the foot pegs from mos superman and armory batman are holding a little better as they have cushion material around the pegs.

Ahhh....I see. Ill give the eva pad a try first and see how I'll like it.

Extended ankle mod, I guess I could repaint them black and put nail polish over it to thicken it for a stronger hold.

We'll see how the butt looks in action shots. I'll probably reposition the belt a little since the stock figure looks like the back side is a little droopy.

I like em thiccc :lol

Swapped out the able pegs with the Armory Batman ankle pegs, glad I did, looks way better imo

Do you need to pad the calves after replacing the ankle pegs? Or does it look just fine?

Looks fine to me,it is more the bulkiness of the thighs that(to me )make him look a bit stumpy, now the ankle extenders are on he looks alot more in proportion,I wouldn't worry about the calves

Cant say I'm a fan of the thighs. They look way too big where its just unproportional. I understand the cool factor of making Batman look mad buff but theres also proportions.

yes, nail polish will help a little, but don't expect too much tho. lol
Guess that is why Tony Meis has designed his own pegs to perhaps eliminate the issue.

I am still experimenting some other pegs. In fact, I have two more sets coming this week. Hopfully I will find ones that work the best.
The best method is to lengthen the legs with putty, I didn't want to mention it because it is hard to undo and requires some experience and skills.

Most wouldn't believe a simple 5mm lift will make your bvs batman and superman look a lot nicer.
Personally, I think the bvs knighmare batman should be required to do this mod as it comes shorter than the regular bvs batman for some reason.

You can pad the calves, but you kind of defeat the purpose.
I think the stock thighs and calves are a little too big unless you want to use 25mm-30mm pegs.

Yeah I agree, when dealing with this scale 5mm can make a big difference

I never said they didn't know how to pose! They can know how to pose it and still want to mod it, that's absolutely fine. I meant that there's a lot of people that don't know how to futz or pose the figure and therefore resort to modding straight away without even seeing how the figure can look with it set up properly (just look at people's pictures whom have his shoulders in a permanent shrugging position, the cape hovering over his shoulders, his crotch sagging and dead pan straight on stare with his arms to his side straight down with no relaxed and natural stances to anywhere of his body, even some of the people who mod use these pictures to further highlight the difference between stock and theirs mods - which is a bit unfair on the stock figure, yes that's how it comes from the box, however that's not its potential) . I have no doubt little mods here and there can really add to the figure and make it a bit more accurate, but for the most parts, when you tilt or rotate his limbs, add a bit of posture to his torso and adjust the head and stock cape well enough it's a really solid figure that does justice. However, like UnreaToys said further below, there's only so much you can do before it starts to look too much because in the end the musculature and body are made to a certain size, and only accentuating or adding to certain features of the figure will make it look out of proportion or mismatched. But like you said, people can do as they like, I was just highlighting that it seems some people just resort to the mods seemingly without actually seeing what the figure can do. And there's nothing wrong with that I guess, just for me it's a bit odd as so many people on this site and in general seems to hold modding in such an accord Hot Toys stock is never really good enough. Then again I'm not really a big modder so my opinion, of course, is bias!

Also **** this Batman suit! Noticed some more degredation on both of mine and damge from one of them out of the box straightway, FML... I'll post pictures another time. Also interesting that one of mine looks the same sort of suit as the Suicide Squad one.

I presume any normal ex ankle peg I can get on ebay is ok?

I use the 20mm foot pegs taken off from the mos superman and armory batman for now.
You can try others, but I recommend the ones with the cushion/foam material around them.

Whoa! Easy tiger! lol

I am only here to share the mod info which is simple and reversible if you guys need it, not here to argue if you should modify your figures.

As for your bat suit issue, I use armorall, some of my friends use silicone oil.
I wish I have done that sooner to my other figures with pleather or rubber clothing on them.
The same principle of doing mods, you can sit there whining or go ahead and do something when you are not happy with it. I am obviously the latter. lol
