What new STAR WARS HOT TOYS 1/6 & 1/4 Figures will we see at SDCC 17...?

looking at Friday's schedule... Sideshow / EFX / Koto usually has a panel (7AB) at 1 pm but now Hasbro is listed in its place...

is it not happening this year?

Only included teased figures. POed figures such as Luke are now confirmed as seeing production.

I thought the Shoretrooper was already released?

Technically, HT released the Shoretrooper Captain if you take its paint scheme into account. Squad Leader and grunt have yet to go up for PO.

That's a great LIST to show how far backlogged HT really is. I think some of those will never see the light of day now.

I think the below are DEAD:

RO Shoretrooper (Squad Leader)
RO Tank Commander
ANH Death Star Trooper
ANH Sandtrooper (Sergeant)
ANH Gonk Droïd x2
ESB Snowtrooper Commander


I hope Tarkin doesn't end up on that list over time.

I would expect to see the DST at some point. 12 back, nostalgia and has the chance for head swaps, so multiple purchase potential.

Gonk: chance Sideshow might take this up if Hot Toys can it. I would pre order a Hot Toy Power Droid in a heartbeat. There is a market for any IT stuff from the POTF days.

Regarding SDCC
I will guess that Sideshow will show a Death Star Droid.

Hot Toys wild guess at Leia Boushh.
Very long shot with Leia Hoth in production but the market is there and they could release another tweaked Chewbacca in a neck chain.
Give the Luke Palace look something to bounce off too.

Its in the morning this year, before Hasbro SW instead of after like previous years. It might even be before the SW literature panel this year cant remember. Its still on there though.

Sideshow has NEVER spoken about HT releases during their portion of the program however. Their reveals have been getting weaker and weaker at the panels.. not even showing things that are on the floor. Last year was all about Maul, Carbonite Han (which they showed nothing about) and the Bounty Hunters.

Hot Toys does not have a presence at the panel which sucks. Even questions about HT stuff that were asked were given incorrect answers (someone asked about Poe and they said if we check out the booth we will be happily surprised. A bunch of us went down to the booth right after the panel thinking there was a late reveal. When we asked the booth staff they said there is no Poe, nor one even hinted at and were kind of rude about it).

Yeah they've got the jacket for Finn, and the shirt is very similar to Han's too. But I hope for X-wing pilot outfit first, then save a second Poe figure for TLJ with his dark jacket. They can market the X-wing version for either TFA or TLJ, but if it's TFA it can be shown at SDCC. Regardless I just want the figure. Let's see it Hot Toys!

I think at this point if we get a Poe it'll be from The Last Jedi. I doubt they'd go back and do him from The Force Awakens now when they've had almost a couple years already to put him out.

I bet Tarkin is safe given that Hot Toys went out of their way to tease him specifically on their Facebook page. They know we want him released and obviously have a prototype ready for SDCC. It's just a matter of when it goes up for pre-order in my opinion.

The big display this year seems like it'll probably be the Death Star II throne room. We'll likely see Jedi Luke, a new Vader, Palpatine, and the Royal Guards. Also recent pre-orders like Hoth Leia and the Death Star Gunner. Obviously we know Tarkin will be there too. I'd like to see a Lando and Bespin Han on display or even cooler but less likely a Jabba's palace set up. I don't think they'd do two big displays though and the throne room duel seems more likely.

I don't know, there's still TFA C-3PO to be announced. I think they'll probably wait for TLJ to do even Pilot Poe, but seeing both those outfits I'd like HT to do both of them. X-wing should definitely be first though.

I would love a Gonk too, but how would those have been sold? As an accessory, but accessory to what? As a pair with variation between them to beef it up to a full release? I'm just not sure how much people would realistically pay for a single Gonk ($120? $140?,) and whether it would be worth it to HT.

I can see it as an accessory to a SSC Death Star Droid release as part of a "sandcrawler gang" to move more Jawas and R5's, but not really as a standalone HT fig.

Really hope the ROTJ stormie isn't dead.

The problme with Jabba is that I already have one and while I'm happy to live with two Scouts, two Snowies, 5-6 Stormies, many Vaders...I really don't need two huge croissant shaped space slugs.

Yes I'm counting on this as well. This is HTs last chance to round out the main TFA cast before TLJ takes over.

If they start with TLJ Poe. another figure in a leather jacket would look pretty lame in a display.

You got it man !! That scene in TFA where the camera tracks him from the ground at Maz's castle as he cleans up a heap of troopers is one of the best in the film.

I also think him in pilot gear next to Rey and the others would good give contrast in a display. Those black red colors on the helmet look great.

While I'm dreaming here, He better come with a helmet off headsculpts though !!!!
