TSWLM is also the first Bond I saw at the theater... although I vividly remember being very, very young and seeing a trailer for LALD and being fascinated by the sets and colors and action. But my mother said I was too young. Too young for Bond? Absurd!
Star Wars and Spy Who Loved Me. It was a very good summer in '77.

My mom saw it in '77 , sadly it was a bit before my time.....I heard audience in the UK were cheering during the ski jump
Only Bach left now from the main cast.
Maybe Bond would've ended had this not been a hit (14 different scripts tells you that this one had to be a smash hit) , Golden Gun was not the hit they had expected.

Well, I liked Moore, but not so much as James Bond, even though he was the Bond of my childhood. To be fair, the only good ones he made were TSWLM and FYEO. The rest... Well... Let's be merciful and forget they actually exist...

If you like your Bond realistic, then yes... FRWL can't be beat.
I prefer a bit of fantasy. I think Goldfinger was the perfect balance, followed closely by Thunderball. As much as I love YOLT -- and that volcano base -- it began that rollercoaster towards the improbable and then outright silly.
For me though, Goldfinger, Thunderball and You Only Live Twice are the holy trinity of Bond movies.

That film is god damn near perfect.
If you like your Bond realistic, then yes... FRWL can't be beat.

Goldfinger is my number one Bond. Perfect entertainment. That's why I thought it was so cool that BCS went with this set. I had a chance to see it on the big screen about 14 years ago. Only, they managed to do something weird with the projecting and got the scope wrong for the first twenty minutes or so. Still, it was a great Saturday afternoon. That said, the bluray release is totally stunning, and gets watched a lot!!

I really do love all bond movies and Goldfinger is my favorite, I have trouble ranking the rest but if it's not on my list below I don't consider it a "good" bond film
