So I realized the stand I received Saturday actually works quite well if you bend the wire further open and have it wrap around the lower part of the shell.

That would be this one:

Kaiser Doll Stand 3101 - White Doll Stand for 15" to 20" chubby-waisted Dolls

It doesn't grip the shell tightly as I'm a bit obsessive about paint rubs and scuffs, but it wraps around and gently touches it. Just a bit of support should the figure lean one way or another.

You can buy some dark ribbon or fabric from a hobby store and wrap it around the metal arms of the stand. It will make them look less apparent and help with preventing paint rub. That's exactly what I'm doing with mine. I thought about getting some fine leather to wrap around the metal arms to match the style of the turtles.

Well we might be waiting a bit later this week for Leo as this is what they said when I asked about Leo.

NECA: Let me check with the ebay guys - that was the last info I had from them, but it's dependent on how long the container takes to clear customs.

Yep for sure and less QC issues. I might do that idea of wrapping ribbon around the grippers but use green as mine around around the leg thanks for the heads up.

The bigger mouth gap isn't a huge deal to me. Perfectly happy with my batch one Raph. Having to return one from the UK would be such a hassle I'm not gonna worry about something as minor as that.

Looking forward to Leo now. I assume he won't be going up on NECA's eBay today? They sell so fast I'd hate to miss him but can't stay up all night. :lol

Nice I'll pick up a few of these then and wrap it with brown fabric to prevent paint rub.

Do neca sell these to uk residents on ebay?

Yes you have to pay the import tax but its actually cheaper than going through customs and getting more from the shipping company for their extra fees etc

Yeah I bought Donnie and Raph through their eBay no problems. It's a relief to pay the customs up front and not have to worry how much you could be charged later. Although it's not cheap I still think for how good they are it's well worth it.

Got Raph today direct from Neca, what a great figure. But i did decide to warm up the holsters, just to get a slanted angle so the Sai lay back more without hindering his thighs. Popped two paint brushes in until it all cooled into shape. Not sure if it made much dif but seems to work.

How's the bandana?
It looks fine to me, not really patchy or "dirty" as others have described. One length of cloth is slightly longer than the other, but thats ok.

That looks good Jan!

Cheers slamscaper

Just to add, his torso is a bit loose too like Don, it must be the weight of the arms yanking to poor dude around, but doesnt seem to flop side to side like a nutter, so can live with that. He poses well so shouldnt complain
