Everyone is entitled to their opinion but sometimes I think folks get way too excited about a new figure. No way in hell this even comes close to touching the DX07 as the best Luke ever. Head to toe the DX soundly thrashes it. I would get into reasons why but there are more than I care to list. If one prefers the snowspeeder costume that is a different story.

The best Luke figure ever is this... With DX07 boots, belt, accessories and HS.

The best Luke figure ever is...... Whichever one you think it is. Everyone has their opinion, but no one can singularly define which one is the best. You could do a poll, and a majority of people can like one over the others, but it still comes down to your favorite and why it resonates with you so much. That's all that matters. Don't let someone else tell you which one is better.

Terms like "I think" or "The best to me is" should be used, not simply best ever hands down, everyone else is wrong..

Nice shot. Although I have to think this figure would look a lot better with one of the nicer blades from HT Rey or Luke instead.

Agreed, I really dislike the design of the Sideshow blades; hilt looks good... but the blade is fugly. I've been judicious in trying to spread the better looking blades around my collection.

Everything on this figure looks great. It the sculpts are still a bit off. Not bad but off. Looks like the eyes are too close together. Almost pinched.

They are very close to Hamil but would benefit from a repaint.

I own both and I can tell you, they all have problems, but the sculpt of Sideshow's Snowspeeder Luke, even the non-helmeted head has the best likeness to my eyes and the helmeted head is my favorite out of all of them. The only thing better on the HT heads is the hair sculpt and paint.

I'll give you that the belt is better on the HT Bespin Luke, the SSC Snowspeeder Luke belt is a little lower in quality especially those damn annoying magnets, but the boots on HT Bespin Luke are about even. Although it's nice to have real cloth boots, they don't hold their shape very well and can easily look bad if not properly futzed with. The Snowspeeder Luke boots always look good, have great poseability, and match the plastic molded gloves that even Hot Toys would give theirs if they made this version. That is something I prefer with my figures, if the gloves are plastic then I also want the boots to be plastic to match.

I have them both as well and agree with everything you said above. The only thing I would add is that I think the paint app on the eyes on Bespin Luke are better as well.

Yes the paint is an area Sideshow has struggled with the most. Ash and Wolverine were improvements, I think this Luke falls a bit short of that bar.

How are the magnets on your belt holding up? Most of mine have come undone from the glue. The problem is that the glue they're using isn't as strong as the magnet's power and that the magnets are too smooth on their back with little for the glue to grip. The magnets want to pull off the glue and stick to one another. I ended up gluing the holster's belt flap to the material and threw the magnets into his pouches.

Thanks Dave, I thought of using it but decided to leave it for the picture. In certain lighting conditions the blade actually looks pretty cool when the blue brightens up. I wish it looked like that in my pic. I do think the SS blades might be a little too thick though.

All my magnets are doing the same as yours. I was thinking of adding a dab of superglue inside each of the pouches and see if that would help secure them better.

I've had to reglue most every magnet closure on figures I've owned... Sideshow or Hot Toys, it doesn't seem to matter; the glue is usually not strong enough.

:lecture

Health and safety restrictions at the factories prevents the use of superglue.

The workers would either get high or pass out, and figure release dates would be delayed even longer. :lol

Superglue will not bind together plastic or metal to cloth. I've used Quick Grip All-Purpose Adhesive with good success in the past but when I tried that here, the glue was not stronger than the magnets to keep them stuck to the fabric unless I used it in abundance. It did adhere the fabric together after I gave up on the magnets. It's good stuff, just be careful when applying it because it can get very gooey.

I watched a documentary about China's pollution levels, an investigative reporter had asked to be put inside a sealed chamber and polluted air of a certain level be pumped in. The lab assistant refused , citing health and safety rules. The reporter then pointed out that the surrounding air had already exceeded her requested level of toxicity.

Youre using a crap superglue then, try on drop where the magnet will sit on the fabric, let that dry and then apply the magnet with an additional drop

Sure, we all have our personal preferences and I'm looking forward to spending time with this figure when it arrives just to see if my assumptions about upgrading it are correct. In particular the boots look better then I expected. Much as I love the DX07 boots I find that unique peg thing they did on DX07 bodies a complete pain in the arse.

Similarly while DX07 belts are wonderful pieces the whole magnet thing is a pain.

About 1/3 of my DX07's belt studs were coming off and mine arrived with no saber hooks.
