Great pics ZE, thanks for posting them after a long day! Why leaving your stuff stock now, resale value? Didn't you used to mod the hell out of stormtroopers and other figs?

No problem. I did used to mod the hell outta things, but I'm the same way with art and design; when I take something as far as I can, I just move on. I sold customs without a thought that people were like "you what?!" because to be honest, I enjoyed the work more than the thing itself, and I think my buyers appreciated them more at that point.

These days I've zeroed in on what I know I really like, and sort of enjoy the collector aspect of the product being a snapshot of an era in toy manufacture or whatever.

Resale is less an issue because of the convergence of me figuring out what I really dig and am unlikely to sell, and Hot Toys producing really outstanding work I don't feel compelled to alter. That's why I'm passing on Snowspeeder Luke...it's just shy of everything else on the shelf right now.

Upgrades are always a possibility in this hobby, but my collecting habits have stabilized/matured.

Does anyone want to see anything from the 2-pack while I'm still up?

Nice! :duff

Any issues with the hands, the Shoretrooper seems to have pretty loose ones that pop out?

These guys really look great!

That they are. If you wanted to upgrade the SSC version with HT parts, I'd say the bracers and gloves would be the key pieces to swap.

The SSC helmet can look great with a cowl mod, since inaccuracies aside, that fixed rubber mask hurts it the most.

But for overall build quality and subtle details, these obviously beat the SSC -- but if you're not a stickler or trooper-head, you could be perfectly happy with just upgrades. The SSC snowtroopers don't suck.

Great pictures ZE, thanks.

It's good to know that you feel the SSC ones can be upgraded to stand next to this one. That's my plan anyways.

No worries, sorry they're a little dark/blurry -- lighting in here at night isn't great for 1/6 photography.

The SSC can absolutely be upgraded to within spitting distance of the HT. Doing a body-swap with a TrueType knock-off or Soldier Story body would get them even closer. You should be good to go.

Okay, time to crash.

I can't believe how much I've turned on this guy. A couple of months ago I was "Meeehh". Sideshow version was never on the radar.

But this guy looks great and a good colour change to the Empire figure lineup.

Just need the Emperor and Imperial Guard and my set will be complete (read - I will have ran out of space)

I really thought I could do without a hot toys snowtrooper..............pics convinced me otherwise..........:gah:

Ordered........:yess:

I have a code for 25 off of the canon if anyone is thinking about ordering it before the middle of June.

Great pics everyone! Thank you so much for posting. Makes the wait a bit more bearable.
