That review has me thinking of biting on this one. Exclusive is out (extra $20USD for a rifle and QMX $70USD min shipping is way too much). Got a $25 sideshow coupon so might use that or wait and see if popcultcha gets the exclusive.

Popcultcha got the Kirk and Spock exclusives, but only seem to be offering the regular McCoy for pre-order, so who knows?

Going by the price there of past releases, though, you only save about ten bucks Australian by ordering from Popcultcha compared to the current currency converted price of the ex shipped direct from QMX, so unless you're building up 'popcultcha pennies' (or already have a discount built up), there's really not a lot of difference either way.

Head sculpt is ok at best, weaker than all the TOS ones.
Head is unproportionally big and the neck looks short because of it.
Jacket's collar is too puffy.

The rest is awesome but I just can't justify the purchase this time.
I'd happily buy and work on it if only the currincy exchange wasn't so damn inhumane.

And without Picard I'll have to skip the entire NG line for sure... Pity. :monkey2

I wonder why they didn't just re-do the uniforms to make them fit better if it was that much of an issue. I guess thinking about it I do remember Picard adjusting the top of his uniform a lot but it wasn't something I thought too much about.

Well with Frakes clearly getting a bit heavier towards the end of the series, and needing a baggier tunic to help hide that fact, it's possible they just made them all that way to be more consistent. Not to mention the fact it was the 90s, when everything people wore looked ridiculously loose and baggy. :lol

As for them sliding up all the time, it was probably unavoidable with the design and the stiff material they were using.

I went to preorder through SS. Is this seriously twenty five dollars to ship? Yesh.

I must have missed that when I preordered him earlier. I preordered him from sideshow on a flexpay. He had no NRD and I used 35 bucks in rewards points on him. Hoping to have him by June or earlier if I can pay him off earlier. I decided I didn't need the exclusive gun. If it had been, I don't know, a captain's jacket or just something more substantial, maybe but nah. Despite all the back and forth about the figure's likeness, I maintain that not only will it be better up close but ultimately I think many of us will love it anyway. It's a sixth scale highly detailed Capt. Picard that has not been done with this level of quality and who's success is the key to many other trek characters getting made. Let's be real, Kirk, Spock, and McCoy will be made endlessly everytime a company gets the trek license. Picard and everybody else might not be so let's get in while the gettings good!

I was sat here earlier watching an episode of TNG and thought, he's a fantastic captain. One of two I would ever want to own as a figure. Despite the nitpicks this will be the only highly detailed Picard we'll see for a few years. So I had to have him. I went with SS due to rp but the fact that I'm wasting twenty five bucks of that on shipping kind of irks me.

Yikes. Is that really how much they charge for shipping of QMX figures?

It's sideshow prices. As far as I know Qmx is free shipping.

I ordered Spock direct from QMX 2 days after i ordered Kirk from sideshow. Spock arrived in 2 days with free shipping, Kirk arrived 5 days later and shipped before spock for $25. Both shipped from CA to CT. Sideshow is marking up UPS shipping fees for profit.

I'm starting to feel bummed not to be buying this, I can see the prices going through the roof once it's gone.

Yeah that's why I'll only buy these from QmX Hard to beat free two day shipping. I know a lot of people want the points, but the 25.00 you pay in 5 day shipping does not outweigh the free shipping. You can even throw that 25.00 at QmX and get the exclusive version instead of the regular one Sideshow offers.

I should've looked at the shipping. I didn't. The only thing I was thinking about was the flexpay and my reward points. I got Kirk and Spock from big bad toy store but I had more extra cash at the time(just got paypal credit at the time).

Alrighty, ordered this guy despite the shipping. Got him down to 125 shipped so I can't complain too much. Now I'm wondering it futzing will get us anywhere near the flow the neck and shoulders had in the show.

I ordered through Entertainment Earth with a discount code someone posted and it's shipped for free. Best deal out there. (for the regular version).

I no longer purchase from Sideshow due to business practices like this. The mighty have fallen.
