Apart from the gloves, is there anything else in the HT RO Vader that's better in terms of accuracy to Star Wars than the ANH version? The tunic on the ANH version seems better (based on what set photos I found), but I couldn't tell if the codpiece, belt and box is better on either.

Thanks!

The gloves as you mentioned are by far the main thing. The cape seems to be pretty popular also (though the ANH cape is fine too) and I believe people have expressed desire in weathered belt boxes here and there.

I'd add that the HT ANH chestbox is just a tad undersized and the RO chestbox feels like the right size for ANH to me, but the details on the RO chestbox (while really pretty close to ANH) would need a bit of customizing to the match the onscreen ANH chestbox.

The RO belt boxes are also noticeably bigger vs the ANH ones, which I think is more accurate but not sure.

Matrix69 also thought the RO chest armor was more accurate than the ANH one, but still wasn't 100% correct either (sculpt-wise, I think the Kaiyodo model is the only one that's pretty much correct.) It doesn't have the little back line down the middle like on the ANH, which must have been an error, but isn't that noticeable.

So, I 'jerry rigged' a toggle to come out the back of Vader to easily activate him after his sounds go to sleep mode - on a mission to do a COMPLETE ANH mod job on him now, only thing scaring me is the nose mod.

This is a 'before' photo, I found a small but sturdy metal spring that was a firm fit on the plastic switch that activates the sound functions and then using superglue gel I attached the spring and then to make it more sturdy cut a piece from a large paper clip and superglue gelled that in to make the switch sturdier and easier to use one handed.

Careful you don't snag the cape in that hook.

Ridiculous that HT put out this electronic with such a fundamental flaw.

Okay, so I've reviewed that nasty looking hook and come up with a better looking solution - amazing what a little bit of lego can be used for!

Thanks! I might look into the RO belt boxes. Seems like a very subtle change though?

Unboxed this bad boy today... Man is he imposing:

I was surprised to see he's larger than the Mark 45.

Haven't done some real futzing yet, but I did attempt to remove the tunic wires and failed. How do you guys feed the wire out? From the bottom of the tunic? The bottom edge of my tunic has a very thick seam on it (like the cloth was folded into itself). I do not see how the wire can come out there. What am I missing?

Got the RO gloves in the mail today, they really do look alot better than the ANH gloves.

Anything to keep in mind when getting the gloves on the ANH figure?

Congrats! It's helpful if they each have their own peg. Then they can be swapped more like SS figure hands. The other thing is just about trying to get the sleeves not to bunch up too much. I'm not sure of the best method to push them into the glove though. Either way the bunching up isn't too noticeable to me, but I am worried about potential long-term damage.

He's force choking your Mark 45 with the plastic film, SAVE Tony!!!

I received my RO gloves yesterday, they were a bit pricey but they really make Vader look that much better, what a difference.
