Retail is $672 + shipping.... to ship to North America your probably looking around $300 due to it's size.

If we just look at retail price there, and compare a possible 700 for SS Venom vs this XM Venom, it's a no contest really... I get that it's unfortunate you guys have to pay so much for shipping XM products to the states, but if anything this really highlights how ridiculous SS's pricing policy has become. Once upon a time I used to order SS products when the exclusive was worth getting (and I had to pay a fair amount of import tax for that too) but I'm saddened to think those days are behind me, and that SS will no longer be considered a price-competitive company. Forces collectors to stick to companies that have licenses for the market in their own regions, doesn't it? That can never be a good thing.

I think it forces Sideshow to raise its game to a certain extent. I'll put the new SSC Deadpool piece against anything Prime 1 or XM has coming. I seriously can't see it being made better. The detail is ridiculous. Where Sideshow will struggle is QC. And Sideshow has never released a Marvel piece this detailed before, and this goes to show me that they can keep up with XM....if they want to.

This new Thanos piece that Sideshow has coming....I have a strange feeling it's going to put others to shame.

XM and Prime are amazing companies though, and anyone can argue that they're the best at what they do though. I can think of a handful of pieces to support those claims.

I think the biggest obstacle SS has is getting peoples faith back in them. When you see pictures of SS Various statues leaning after a few years & mix media clothes that start to fall apart from glue giving out or the elastic bands giving out, that doesn't instill a lot faith in customers. Right now XM and Prime 1 have the faith of their customers to put out a solid product, that's why you don't see to many people complaining about spending $1000+(after shipping) for their statues.

If you look at Deadpool he's leaning forward quite a bit, you can't help but wonder if this will be an issue down the road. Hell I've seen the rod they've put in Spider-Man and I'm still worried about that statue :lol

I agree with every point you said, 100%.

Well said. :lecture

XM and Prime got off on the right foot and haven't let customers down yet - and hopefully never will.

And the leaning? I was just talking about that in the Spider-Man thread the other day. I, like you, am definitely worried about that one. Didn't think about it with DP....until now. :lol

98.9 % of Venom pre-orders are sold out . I wish people the best of luck .

Cross finger that no leaning problem

Chapter, Sideshow couldn't even get a simple paint as the paint dripping can be seen on my Sabertooth new PF's base...they offer me $20 since they don't have replacement :rotfl

They can keep up in design complexity with XM, but the most important question: Can they match the quality of the finished product? (not including P1 since I haven't seen any released complex statues from them yet)
The design of the new Deadpool is outstanding, and I was thinking of ordering it, but I can't take them seriously at the moment and I don't trust them to deliver a finished product that resembles the prototype in quality.

I think those are all very valid concerns/points and I agree. SS QC is hit or miss and it's a shame. If I knew that the price increases in part when to developing better QC, I'd be ecstatic.

With that said, I still really like Sideshow, but I just think some 'cracks in their armor' are starting to show and it sucks as a collector who's been with them for so long.

Maybe SS lower the Es, partly due to the high increase in price?
