Re: Current discount codes at SSC: List of Spook codes in 1st post

The Marvel DC thing means nothing to me i just like a good show. I used to love Gotham, Arrow and Flash but they (IMO) have gone downhill but Supergirl is my favorite superhero show right now (not serious and just fun) followed by Agents of Shield. DD, Jones and Cage are on another level completely and are incredibly well done so i can't even compare them to the network shows. Again just my opinion..

Of the more modern Marvel films I liked the first Iron Man, Ant-Man and Deadpool, plus the Wolverine ones.

Agents was hard to get into from the moment it aired on TV. I struggled through to the end of Season 3, and am waiting for Season 4 to finish before watching, but only because the Ghost Rider.

Luke Cage started off like an episode of Desmonds and turned into Shaft. I was expecting much better after Jessica Jones. I guess I'm not into the '70s blaxploitation roots of the original comic.

Why's everyone picking an $80 total? I can't imagine in a board room meeting the SSC leadership saying "Let's give them $80." People don't think in numbers like that generally. $75 is more likely IMO. Two $2 RP events and done. But, we'll see!

I agree with you. If it's a good show who cares if it's Marvel or DC. I still try to watch most of the "Comic Book" shows as my wife calls them. It's interesting to hear your opinion on Supergirl as being "not serious and fun". I thought it was also but after the first few episodes my wife found it to be bigoted. She is Latin (born in Nicaragua) and said that if the things said about white males in the show were said about women or Latin people the show would be taken off the air. I never really looked at it that way, but she is probably correct.

Re: Current discount codes at SSC: List of Spook codes in 1st post

You were not enjoying it ?

Not really - it's another "while saving earth from alien invasion/annihilation, we accidentally destroyed a building and PEOPLE DIED... because of the magnitude of our HUBRIS!":slap The whole thing felt pretty contrived to me, an obvious device to pit Cap and IM against each other..

I've only really liked Cap 1, Thor 1, Antman, GOTG and Avengers 1 so far (haven't seen Deadpool yet, but feels more my style). I just find Downey to be a smug slimeball, and he dominates so many of these films now.

I know I'm in the minority when it comes to the Batman films. The Dark Knight was an overly long, poorly directed and edited film that was written with numerous plot holes and character inconsistencies. The Dark Knight Rises is even worse, akin to a dumpster fire.

:lol

I'm amazed people took kids to those films. They are like sadistic terrorist films but with a few characters who happen to wear superhero-esque costumes. They're also quite the slog - humorless and bleak (the only humor is unintentional.) Post-9-11 times a hundred.

Disclaimer: I know many love the films - just my opinion.:lol

Iron Man and Deadpool are my Favorites rights right now. I can understand Agents it has had it's up and downs but i am enjoying this season so far. Seems like they are trying to do a course correction.

Hmmm i will have to go back rewatch I don't recall anything bigoted at all. I was thinking more not dark like Arrow or Gotham when said not serious. Flash is not dark and i like the actor who plays him but the timelines and other earths sometimes for me gets confusing. Arrow was my favorite when it was just him but it just got way to overcrowded with heros.

But the good thing for all of us is we actually have choices :yess:
There is something out there for almost everyone so we don't have to like them all.

Final day, hoping for a last ditch attempt at clearing out some items.
Would like to see a bigger discount on Shotgun and maybe a few new items.

It's very possible. I'm optimistically hoping for $80 but $75 is just as likely.

Don't remind me. :lol

I'm sort of expecting it to be extended. Midday LA time on the 31st is no time to end a Spooktacular. :lecture Might as well go til midnight LA time. Seems odd that that isn't the plan this year.
