High end custom headsculpts are always going to be better than mass produced ones - but this sounds like there is some sort of competition.
Loads of factors can influence why someone would choose to have a mass produced sculpt - their financial situation for example - but I don't feel this comes across as either humble or constructive.

Ben Choi's attempts do nothing for me, though admittedly I've never seen either in the flesh.

Regardless of finances, my personal guideline is that I only mod something that I feel is utterly necessary because it bothers me every time I look at it. The stock cape on the DX12 bothered me, so I swapped it out for a custom one. Sure the BC sculpt seems to look better in pictures, but the stock DX12 sculpt doesn't bother me to the point where I feel the utter urge to have to change it right this instant, if at all.

Couldn't agree more & im not trying to boast or gloat just saying I'm really happy with my headsculpt and showing some pics off it as there are hardly any about of the new sculpt Ben did.
The thing is the dx12 head bothered me so much it was the first figure I attempted to modify myself/not something I would of ever attempted to do before but it just really bothered me how off it was in comparison with the suit.
Then the armory revised figure came around and while it looked better I saw it as still off-it's too long/it's too thin and the eyes are better but still off. It's just not right in my eyes.
Massive batman fan and I think Ben nailed it, just wanted to share that.

I like your body swap, it looks so much better than the original body.
Two quick questions:
- Did you shave off the elbows on the TTM19 style body before putting the suit on?
- Did you have any problem fitting the sleeves around the new arms?
The arm protective plates look a bit low on your figure and I'm trying to figure out if it is your choice or if you had some difficulties fitting them around the larger biceps.

The great thing about your body mod is that not only he looks overall much better but it makes the shoulder armor plates look good (they look terrible out of the box).
The three worst things about the DX12 are the head, the body and the shoulder pads.
You took care of all three.

All those things you pointed out where horrible. So yeah, I feel the DX12 was a bit of a let down once I unboxed him IMO. So once I got enough nerve I had to mod it. Let me know if you want to do yours. I wouldn't mind doing another one again.

Seems no different to me than sending your stock figure to someone to have it customized or buying custom accessories that someone else made.

I was thinking that myself, but HT are mass produced items where customs generally aren't and are more exclusive.
