Yeah, it's not THAT bad. Like I guessed, the paint apps fell a little short, especially the eyes, but it'll be fine for MY shelf. I'm gonna pose him hitting a golf ball and pounding a beer.

Also, even better, I'm feeling a whole lot better about the GB Doc pac I have on PO with nrd pd.

Do people never learn.

Those pics tricked a lot of people, even folks like myself who have been collecting for years. Not sure if you watch figure reviews, but even a seasoned pro like DeanKnight commented stating this figure might really be bad. David Cheng even apologized for posting the horrible pics, because Blitway started to get accosted by people by phone and on Facebook. I'll keep saying it, this is why Hot Toys has bloggers do professional pics for the introduction of finished production pieces, so some guy with a cell phone and their flash on doesn't make their figures look like **** on a FB page followed by thousands of people, Lol. After all, it's a business. I really hope Blitzway handles this differently next time around, because Quite a few people canceled, and even though they will make their money back because the figure ultimately ended up looking very good once proper photos came out, I'm sure it's something they want to avoid again in the future.

I have both the two pack and an extra red coat version pre-ordered, and I still held the faith that those pics couldn't possibly be accurate based on Blitzway's previous work. However it didn't stop me from getting worried and commenting about f'n terrible the photos were. Then you had the pics taken by the same people of the skinhead version which actually looked better than the red coat version. This only prompted even more speculation that the redcoat version was truly terrible in comparison. Not only did the initial pics that David took look terrible, even more pics by a third entity looked even worse. Lol.

The real question is...when the hell is blitzway shipping these? Other retailers are shipping today, should have never ordered with them...

I preordered from TimeWalker, and they're saying end of the month, which unfortunately is standard as far as time even when it comes to Hot Toys releases in HK. I was hoping that it would be sooner considering that this film doesn't have a big fan base in China, however that doesn't seem to be the case, unfortunately.

Also, I'm sure once some of the high quality painters here get some to repaint, it will look more like the proto. Not exactly like, but more like. I see so much lost in the production paint jobs which was to be expected. :(

To me, this is too far from what they showed. I think it's bad, and you can call it bad lighting all you want, but when I open up my Hot Toy, it look more or less like the pics I have seen on the internet, lighting aside. You can photograph the hell out of this puppet, but in the end, when you open the box, it's gonna look like that first pic. Some people can live with that, great, I demand a lot from companies. Blitzways Carlito is one of the best out there. They can do better that this crap and the sad part is, if people are willing to buy crap, they will sell crap.
It's not the end of the world, I'm disappointed in Blitzway, I know they can do better. This is such a cool license and they blew it. I sincerely hope they will try harder with Ghostbuster. I had also hoped they would give Hot Toys some competition. Again, maybe with Ghostbusters...

Latest pics look really good, the tailoring never looked bad to me...it was just those eyes and loss of all detail in that first pic. I know first cellphone pics never look good but that first pic was beyond not good. I'm happy I ordered these figures and glad I didn't get on the cancel train.

I wish every figure looked as "crap" as this:

Now, get your camera out. Set the flash, and take a picture of your Hot Toy's in a lit room and with the flash on. Upload to your computer, and view your image.

Tell me it looks like what you have in hand.

The jacket is really good, the hair is probably the worst I have yet seen on a high-end. And if it was 24.95, I would be impressed with the HS, but it's 10 times that. I'm glad that you think it's worth your money. I'm still very dissapointed
I would not go that far :)rotfl at the $24.95 comment), but the hair is a bit disappointing. Still looks way better than a Sideshow figure, but sub-Hot Toys. Sparkly gold highlights. . .not sure what's going on there :lol

Face paint is better than HT often is, though, from what I can tell so far. Still a no-brainer buy. A reasonable value for your money in the current 1/6 scale market.

There are plenty of bad photos of the Carlitos Way (or other "best" figures) out there with flat lighting, poor framing and lens distortion.

If the internet has proven anything, its that hyperbole reigns supreme and people will continue to believe what they want to believe.

I think the TNS shots on Facebook do a really good job of showing this to us in a more realistic light (literally and figuratively):

Skin tone, freckles, eyelashes and eyebrows, etc. all look damn good.

I'm pretty happy with this. Sure its not as good as the proto, but the proto was also taken with the best photography and best paintjob.
The likeness is pretty good, the tailoring of the outfit is excellent! That jacket alone is Kato tailoring good.
I think the only downside to this is that the proto showed a Hot Toys killer figure, but instead, we got a Hot Toys caliber figure.
Still a win in my opinion.
