It's really an easy fix if you got an airbrush. So easy to mask the entire statue to paint the boots the desired red and the cape you can paint separately. Then add the shading with darker reds. Seal the paint with clear and you're done.

That may well be, but I don't understand why anyone would want to go through all that. SSC should have just made all the future batches look like the original ones. I don't get the change. It certainly wasn't for the better and you would think that SSC would want a uniform look throughout the run of a PF. The last thing I want to do when I get a PF from SSC is break out an airbrush (which I don't even have) and make corrections.

For me personally, I'd rather pick up a first batch Supes PF (EX or REG) off the board or ebay, and call it a day. A first batch REG Supes PF can be had for retail or less and even the EX is selling for a reasonable price. On top of that, you can get the statue right away since sellers have it in hand. Why would anyone order this PF from SSC now? The wait for another batch to be produced will take months to arrive and when it does we'll need to break out airbrushes and correct the color scheme? Why bother unless you personally like the new darker red color scheme to the boots and cape. That would be the only reason I PO this statue direct from SSC now.

Yeah, I'll pass.

Yeah, I hear you man. I don't understand either why SS in all their infinite wisdom would change the color at all. It certainly does look more like an variant color Supes now rather than part of the original 5000 ES. I'm only offering a solution which is really not much work cause it's only 1 color. Speaking for myself, I'm getting this new paint scheme, cause I choose to buy something that is factory new and was not previously owned. But until we have this new Supes in hand, I want to reserve judgement on it.

Gotta love the trinity...

That's fair and understandable.

The trinty is no joke. I like how the collectors have their displays hooked up with prints behind the statues. You walk into these homes and it's like being in a museum with DC'c greatest heroes.

Are these pics with the darker cape and boots? People asking way too much for the Ex.
