Personally I would say this looks like a mix of brush (basecoat and washes) and airbrush. Details can be achieved with blth techniques. However O could be totally wrong and she might have even used a sponge for certain exfects. However the technique doesnt really matter. The (almost) same effect can be achieved with different techniques, so it is more a question of prefference.
hi, i believe for wash to look like that the actual surface would need to be textured, but i think playmates turtles has smooth skin.
for airbrush, it would be more of spot like texture, don't think you can achieve the fine random lines like Melons do.
not sure about sponge, but what i know is sponge texture tend to be holes instead of fine lines? i don't know.

As a custom painter myself, those SOTO turtles hare made from a very hardy plastic. The paint apps are never very permanent on them. I'd be wary of grabbing those. Paint job is beautiful. But the plastic just doesn't handle paint as well as other turtle figs.
She used a certain sponge or brush to dab those patterns on there. I'd say you could use a small sponge to mimic those patterns.

well those are very fine patterns & dense, not sure which type of sponge does that.
you can always sand the surface before painting so the paint will stick, along with top coats.

Like I said she's got a dope personality & artwork. whoever wants should hit her up if u need paintwork she has good prices. I blurred out a figure I'm going to have her paint for me lol

It's for 1 figure, I'm assuming. For that amount of work, I'd say it's a bargain and you definitely get more than what you paid for. She seems like a really cool lady too. If I had the extra cash to burn, I'd love to own some of her work on my collection to enjoy.
hard part is getting the turtles.

If this wasn't the year of the Ninja Turtle I would definitely have her paint these movie figures. But as of now I'm buying a used car worth of turtles w/ NECA & Figuarts so I just can't do it lol. But I am having her paint a different figure & hopefully more in the future if she is willing to.
How much are the figuarts one going for, and are all 4 out?

None are out yet. I think they're somewhere around $65/each.
