There is much, much discussion around the new Ghostbusters film, and I spend the some time at the start of the new movie parlaying my thoughts on the matter. I spend more time looking at three figures of the new female characters - Erin, Abby, and Patty - and my assessment is not good. You can find the review here:

Thanks for reading!

Worst trailer ever...

I Really like the dst line. The sculp could be better... Maybe with some repaint.
I have a lot of matty stuff, and they have their charm, but in detail and accessories i like dst better.

The one i just got looks NOTHING like that. Its a really good Murray sculpt with meh paint apps. The one above looks melted! I guess you just have to get lucky with these....

I would sooner have more simple but cleaner details of the Mattel figures over those ones any day.

We flippen need Mezco and Hot Toys to make Ghostbusters I think. The Ecto-1 is after all the final car of the holy trinity of 80's cars. Hot Toys have made the Delorean and Batmobile. A Hot Toys Excto one would be crazy huge but just have a think about how cool it would be....
Mezco with their amazing format could very easy go to town too with four figures and an 1:12 Ecto-1.

It doesn't even look like these are the latest version of the Matty figures with the removable packs and they don't look like they come with a stream or base. I cannot see any accessories either.
You guys aren't seeing this stuff either I assume?
just found these here in the Miami walmart and from what i can see these are the newer ones with the removable packs. sadly that's all you get, no streams or bases just the busters with gloves/ packs and BAF all for $20.

still waiting on TRU to get series 2 of the DST ghostbusters, and I will be checking closely on the paint on these.

Yeah, Hot Toys Ecto-1 is probably the major remaining "grail" on my theoretical 1/6 scale collection list. Though I don't have room really, I would make it.

One day, on Matty's 72nd rerelease of their original sculpts, someone may actually be able to pick up the four guys with removable packs, proton streams, and essential accessories off the shelf at a decent price.

Maybe. A man can dream at least. I can't fathom why you can't just buy a Ray with his goggles, or Egon with a PKE, when everything has been tooled already. The old labcoat Ray even had a better head. Mattel are evil, evil people.

I wanted to like the DST figures, but they aren't impressive at all.

I would assume the Mattel are sitting on the 1:6 license. This is why I think Mezco should have a crack at it as I think they would do a great job.

Bout the closed thing to a 1/6th scale ecto that is actually going to be released is diamond select upcoming 1/15 scale ecto 1. Its similar in size and scope to the deloreans they released.

Really? Are the Mattel figures 1:15 I wonder? Would be pretty sweet if they were in scale.

I've got their DeLorean. Aren't the Matty Ghostbusters around 1:12 scale? I would say the DST vehicles are more in scale with GI Joes (which are 1:18), even though it's not perfect.

Absolutely. I don't know where I would put it, but it would be mine.

if you guys can have a place for HT Tumbler, I'm sure you have room for a standard Cardillac, it's just slightly longer than a DeLorean.

I mean i know folks collecting 1/6 Army Jeep & Trucks for their Infantries.

When there's a will there's a way, maybe if you run out of table space, you can hang them on the ceiling like people do with X-Wings & Tiefighters.

Slightly longer? I would think it's not shy of the length of the Batmobile dude. It has two rows of seats for starters.

at 1/6 scale, it ain't that much a difference.

Thumbler is much wider than a car.

if space is a problem you can always put 2 of your 1/6 Ghostbusters inside the car.
