So the 3rd staff only comes with Asmus direct orders? That's what I thought anyway.

Was surprised to see that BBTS didn't up the price its usual $10.

The third staff comes with only pre-order, with anyone as long as it is in pre-order status.
we should have some photos of it in the next two days or so.

Asmus, is there any chance you'd consider selling the original fully sculpted Gandalf the Grey head you showed in the beginning as a separate item?

This figure looks great but there are a fair number of folks who would love to have that alternate head, as well.

Keep up the great work!

Yeah, I read it them too, but this is not up to me to decide...

I am sure we are not going to look into that option at moment,
right now the important thing is to produce the current Gandalf in the top notch standard.

PS: I am surprised no one talks about the wizard hat,
it is the ONLY fabric wizard head we see in a collectible at any scaled (except 1:1), that's got count for something, right?

The outfit and hat look great.

I don't mean to step on anyone's toes, but as someone who was greatly looking forward to this (GTG is my favorite LOTR character) I just can't overlook how much the rooted hair takes away from the unhatted likeness. I understand that it adds neck mobility but (to me, anyway) Gandalf is just as iconic without his hat and I wouldn't display this figure like that if the current photos are representative of the final product.

Regardless, even if I skip this I wish you guys the best. I know it ain't easy and Asmus seems to be working really hard even if I don't agree with some of the choices.

I'll probably order him in the next couple of days. I'll display Gandalf with his hat. I really hope the regular production copies of that hat are matched with the promo pictures.

For me it looks great. I know that he looks kinda older than he really is, but I still see Ian McKellen. Alot. Thats a great likeness. Btw, those wrinkles will definitely smooth up with the production figure. And the hair, u guys are right about the sculpted option, but I'm going to use that beautiful hat anyway (and some ppl care about articulation also).

I, for one, would be happy to pay for the upgraded Gandalf the White head. Even though I bought the original figure and I will definitely pre-order Gandalf the Grey once sideshow puts him up. I want to support/reward Asmus when they make gestures like this. I'd be happy to throw a few more dollars their way if they're going to keep going the extra mile for us.

Because sure, as collectors, we can be picky and demanding and outspoken and passionate, but we need to remember ... they don't have to do this. They don't have to replace heads or bodies or accessories when we find flaws in them. They could very easily behave like just about every other company out there and ignore us. The fact that they listen, interact and work to improve their products even after release (at their own expense, no less) is not lost on me.

They've more than earned my collecting dollar.

Great point and I agree. They've been top notch in those respects.

I just wish they hadn't posted that first Gandalf sculpt and then replaced it with one that, imo, is not as good. It's difficult to justify a $200+ figure when I know I'm going to have to replace the head immediately to be satisfied. There's just too much other 1/6 product competing for my $$.

I believe George said end of this month.

I really wish I ordered Mouth from Asmus direct now, because I don't want to wait the 6 weeks it will take for BBTS to receive Mouth+Steed.

In the same boat here... That one sold out quick on the Asmus site, I tried but got there too late so did the BBTS as well.

The hat is really good, i was worried about that most. Not sure how you guys made it as these sorts of things are very easy to get wrong.

I can't wait to see more photos. Is this the first time a preorder has gone up without a photo of everything you recieve layed out in the pic? That's not a complaint, I'm just curious. I'm looking forward to seeing a photo with the stands and all three wizard staffs.
