Series 9 Aliens: Smartgunner, Marine + Xeno (2 marines coming this yr and there won't be another human only wave)

I dont care much for the AvPR Alien at all but I just find it weird that they teased it so much but we still dont know when we are getting it

Yep that's why I put it on there he pretty much confirmed right then that it is a when it will be released not a if. Also the fact that the Dog Alien has been the best selling figure from the whole of the Alien Series, I mean cmon come series 8 we would of got the Dog Alien 3 times in the last two years. There's no chance they would miss out on the opportunity to do it in 1/4 scale.
I've got no problem on them re-releasing these figures especially of one to such quality and sculpt as the Dog Alien, but it's got to at least be a variant. Series 8 would of been fine if it was just the grey variant, re-releasing the exact same Series 3 brown dog alien as well though is slightly annoying. Do collectors now need to buy the exact same dog alien again to have a complete collection of series 8? I guess this is more of a problem for the people that keep them sealed.
Every series comprises of 14 units, after looking at the below we can now see why they split the Dog Alien into two figures this wave.

We all know that the human characters don't sell as well / are more at risk of peg warming. The way they have done this wave has limited the No of units for them. If there were was only one Dog Alien this wave there would be more units of the Humans, hence more risk of stock outstaying it's welcome.

Hell if this is a way of getting more human characters out whilst keeping the line healthy then i'm all for it.

Actually, I think they probably keep digital files to re-size things as needed. (Or at least that what I always assumed?) Some things require tweaking after scaling adjustments, but for the most part they're identical to their 1/12 counterparts.

Yeah thats what they do. These figures are usually sculpted in a larger scale, so they're actually shrunk down for the 7" scale.

They will probably still tweak the inner-mouth articulation and a few of the joints, but for the most part agreed. I think once people see the Warrior in-person it'll be a shoo-in and many of us will want more than one...

Series 9 will be interesting to see which marine we get for the smart gunner but also which one is the stand alone. Given that the no name marines tend to peg warm a lot I am hoping NECA take this to heart and just go ahead and release the more well known characters this time. If Vasquez is too hard to get hold of at least try to get the actor who played Drake and/or one of the lesser known marines in the squad such as Fero, Spunkmier or even the medical officer.
The cryotubes and the EEV have got me interested though. They were only mentioned in passing after some fans asked if they were possible but nothing has eventuated from it as of yet. It would be possible to get some cryotubes I guess released individually and pack in a facehugger or if they wanted it to be more collectable one off figure you could only get with the tubes.
As for the EEV from Alien 3 though I'm not sure how they would go about doing that. Make a fully realised unit with the smashed up interior or just do a diorama type piece ?

I bet series 11 may indeed be a Resurrection line up. Which, although its my least favourite Alien movie, I do love some of the visuals in it and Ripley 8 is an interesting take on the character. A line up with her, Call and maybe the Newborn would be cool.
The Kenner line up will be bizarre really but in a good way for NECA I feel. Give them a chance to really play around with different sculpts and colours and come up with some true gems in the line if they pic the right animals and size.

I havent and it is the high cost stopping me. It looks great but just too damn expensive for my blood.

It would be nice though if NECA did a Sulaco locker room diorama that has lots of lockers and storage chests that we can store away all those pulse rifles, motion trackers and other little accessories we don't use that often.
