$85??? :horror

You can generally buy a sculpt for less than that. I paid $37 for my belt, and I thought even that was pushing it.
Some of the prices for loose parts are ridiculous. I was hunting for Avengers Cap boots, most listings were $65. You can get a real pair of steel toed boots for that price.

It's weird that an entire $230 figure is a more acceptable price to me.

Mini-mods done. Don't know if I'm going to do any paintwork...I like seeing the stuff that shows up because of the shine. Might add a little battle damage to the belt boxes and buckle and leave it at that. I LOVE the ANH look but really like the "I'm a brick" look of ESB...so I wanted to go for the ESB powerhouse look in ANH gear. *I am using my ESB modified gloves...as I just really like the natural look of them.

i can't think of 2 less qualified people on earth to make this video.

"he has a cool cape vest thing"

Meh, they're just punters talking to punters. Not everyone cares about $300 dolls the way people here do.

Got this figure today. It is MASSIVE! I love it. He's just thick and boss. Went for a more iconic pose. Had to futz with his tunic somewhat but this thing is great.

Also, got him from ThinkGeek for $209.45 AND they shipped the brown shipper within another box! Sorry for crappy pic IMG_20160213_185129536.jpg

I closed that link after watching for 10 seconds.

There is nothing wrong with those two from IGN...they are just fans like us........

at the 30 second mark I lol so hard....there is FUTZING, then there is that....wtf did they do to it? Almost worse than Harrison Ford going to town on a HT figure!

Great photo!

My humble suggestion though is that if you're going for the force choke ("I find your lack of faith disturbing.") pose, I would recommend using the hand that has the two fingers curled. The particular hand you have on is indeed considered the "force choke" hand, but even though the other one has two fingers curled, I find the fingers are angled a bit better to give the illusion of a force choke.

I recall putting the "force choke" hand on mine when I first got my Vader and thinking that there was something off about it, that it didn't quite look like a "force choke". Despite the other one having two fingers curled, I tried that one and it looked much, much better.

I was attempting to replicate this exact moment which he has one finger extended. The other hand just didn't work for me. To me the two finger hand looked off.

Decided to get a HT helmet off of eBay. Got one for an okay price. Using it on my original SSC Vader
Still working on the pose and will lower the dome soon.

A fantastic piece!
I've been waiting for someone to show what a simple HT head swap on a unmodified Sideshow's ANH Vader would look like, thanks for posting these!
I was thinking about doing the same but the difficulty of getting one from Toy Anxiety, looking at all the great pics of HT's Vader, the light up saber, and the posing options of HT Vader's wrist and ankles led me to use my reward points and get Hot Toys version at a discount.

The head swap still looks miles better than the original Sideshow head and worth doing for a great looking low priced ANH Darth Vader.

Ah, I have mine posed based on that scene as well. However, my sentiments were the exact opposite. I immediately attached the hand with the one finger extended, but something about it seemed off to me. Even though he didn't have two fingers extended, I tried that particular hand and something about the way the fingers and the thumb are angled with that hand seemed to look better to me.
