Re: Build progress on my custom Avengers Diorama

Nice attention to detail. This last weekend I made an acrylic, "containment unit MK I" with electronic McGuffin for Loki's scepter.
Keep it up. It's looking great.

Thanks. Post any pics of your work? [because what I've seen is good :)]

Guessing I made 200-250 bricks tonight.... :p

Hi, all :wave

I've been lurking this thread since the beginning.

Really coming along, Craig, well done!

What's the white material you're using there to make the bricks and broken concrete? It looks ideal for the job.

I plan on making a diorama of my own soon - but for my Rainman Dracula - so hunting around for tips and ideas. :)

Pic I just took. Funny they kinda "absorb" into the terrain...you don't focus on them. If you zoom in you can see how many I've done. But they serve the purpose of breaking the lines, as I said earlier:

(The wood sticks don't go there, for something else. And I'll warp and distort the beams to look right, I just set them in for reference.)

It's actually pink. You can see the true color in earlier pix, like the building.

You can find it at Home Depot, comes in 2x2 sheets [or bigger sheets that are thinner]. It's in the lumber section here. What I'm using is like 1" thick, called "Project Panels" :

Ah, it's the same stuff! I didn't realise. Thanks for that. And I really enjoy keeping an eye on your thread and watching your progress. :)

yeah, not sure why photo with Hulk's foot is so washed out looking. Same stuff.

Great job thus far on this diorama! I agree with the others, you must put the rest of your life on hold and complete this spectacular build!

Re: Build progress on my custom Avengers Diorama

This looks amazing. Great job Craig!! :clap Seeing this always makes me want to create my own diorama.

Re: Build progress on my custom Avengers Diorama

Looking good so far! tbh, I've been avoiding this thread because I wanted to be surprised by the final outcome but I just decided to take a look.

I did my own diorama last year.. if you're still working on bricks, this might help save you some time. At Home Depot, if you get brick splashback tiles, they're just about the same size as 1/6 scale bricks and they already have the right color and dusted fading/texture.

Anyway, looking forward to the final!

Re: Build progress on my custom Avengers Diorama

Thanks! My father-in-law showed me something similar....he builds bird houses that look like people houses :). The ones he showed me would be difficult to "distress" I think. But it would def be a time saver.

Today's work is 1) more bricks :p and 2) I'm working on contorting these 'metal' beams and supports I bought to look like mangled debris:
