Posted this pic on the C-3PO thread but thought it would work here too. All that's left is Leia to complete the main OT cast members (minus Yoda, Lando and the Emperor arguably). Hot toys did a great job with Luke!

I finally found the perfect Luke-related accessory for a nostalgic display. It's a great looking T-16 Skyhopper, made by DeAgnostini. It appears to be the perfect 1/6th size to represent the toy model Luke was playing with in his garage. I'll add an accurate three-legged copper-colored stand to it, and it should look great in Luke's hand, with 3PO and R2 nearby.

Yep, looks great. The problem with both Hamill and Ford is they look so different depending on the angle/expression. HT and SS have to choose a reference shot and run with it.

THIS! This is EXACTLY what the problem is. I had a hard time finding a good reference photo because there is great variance in Hamill's look

Jawline and ear placement are what sticks out to me. Still, it's a pretty damn good sculpt.

Great work on all your customizing, JazzInc; been following all your photos. I like your repaint, but there are two issues at work. Most actors I'm acquainted with share the extreme plasticity of facial features that you see in people like For, Hamill, Bruce Lee et al. Even regular people such as myself can look radically different from photo to photo and I feel it's exaggerated with professional actors.
As a sculptor myself (formerly classical, of late training and working digitally) I know how devilish the problem of capturing a likeness from reference photos truly is.
Added to the mix is what I perceive to be Hot Toys' "house style" -- many, many of their sculpts have an idealized, heroic and square-jawed look to them instead of showing us "real people". Hamill's jaw in '76-'77 had this underslung, narrow angle to it but HT gave him a stereotypical superhero jaw. It is what it is.

this is a product of all of us wanting neckless sculpts. Most humans have some connection between their neck and jaw. young Luke was a little soft in the jaw line, and by sculpting the head separate from the neck, that line got hardened. and I, for one, am perfectly ok with the small sacrifice of a tiny perfect Mark Hamill for a near-perfect 1/6th amazing Luke Skywalker!!
It's a product of the outfit though too, a neck joint would look pretty unsightly there. If his neckline/chest wasn't exposed we possibly would have had a neck/head like Obi-Wan or Bespin Luke.
I'm still thinking that their best Luke will be ROTJ. All Hot Toys' Luke's thus far seem to have that heroic squarer jaw that ZE mentioned, and the only time Hamill really had that was in Jedi so I'm guessing that will be the best. If they do a snowspeeder Luke that will have a lot of potential as well (no plastic hair because of the cowl and the option to have the helmet on. Could be the ultimate Luke).

fully agree. The visible neck joint is why we all wanted the neckless sculpts! but for all that, my ultimate Luke is the Tatooine Luke, so this one is fabulous! as I said, a small sacrifice in likeness to have a great representation of the character! I gotta post pics... I repainted his hair, and weathered the clothes... I'm very happy with him!!
Yeah, It'll be a tough decision when they make future ones (if they are indeed better) because while I usually gravitate toward the best likeness I don't want too many Luke figures and I don't think I'll be able to part with any of the ANH cast that are currently now on my shelf, it's just so awesome having all of these characters as they first appeared. Having Kenobi beside Snowspeeder Luke isn't the same, for example.
First world problems of course. Can't wait to see the next OT reveals.
