OK noob question here - WILL it lean over time? What contributes to statue lean over time?

There's really no way to tell. I think the quality of the polystone/resin is the biggest factor along with weight distribution(look at Superman comic PF).

Ya I've read about the superman lean, but could never really understand why or even how, aside from normal statue aging

Pretty much as Metroid said. It happens and you cant really tell when it will. My Superman has a lean. My She Hulk PF leans forward real bad now. I also had an Aragorn PF that started to lean as time went on. All I know is I try to avoid constructions that put all their weight on one joint. Sometimes I give in but in this case all the weight is one leg and its leaning forward already. SS has to make that leg really strong. These statues are heavy and if the design elements are not handled right the weight can cause issues over time. Sometimes it doesn't even take long like the new Thor. His weight caused him to tip over his base. Credit to SS for fixing all of them but it also shows SS doesn't always plan on these things. They come out with awesome designs but don't always get the material aspects right.

People with a lean on Superman is because they didn't have him flushed. That's a horrible example.

Um, no. It's because the weight of the cape is pulling him to one side. There's plenty of others that have leaning too and switched to fabric cape. My Superman's feet were perfectly flush and it started leaning...It's a perfect example lol

Hmmm.. Interesting points guys. Will take all points into account. Still "leaning" towards pre-ordering this (pun intended ha-ha!). Most of the statues I have are ladies: batgirl, poison ivy, white black widow, rogue. Would love to add dark Phoenix to the mix. Just hoping it won't lean..

Ok, now I'm kind of worried a little bit. Issues with leaning did cross my mind very briefly when the pics of DP went up and I have heard people mention the issues with the Reeve Superman statue. But I didn't know there were so many statues that had this problem. I would think Sideshow had learnt their lesson now and would have a steel rod going all the way up through the leg and torso of the DP statue, or something. From the side view it looks like it should be possible to do that.

The weight of cape definitely is the cause. Batman also have heavy cape. But he seem steady, maybe be of the heavy base as well. SS needs to engineer and take all this into account. Sucks if spend $500 Pf that leans.

it would be nice to know if they have a steel rod up the entire leg for this. That should hopefully address any lean issue.

Hmmmm even IF we see a green it would be previewed next year and probably on the wave of another price increase. Def a pre ordering this today, just need to decide if I'll put sum points into this.

Do adding points still negate points you receive on this order?

Clear resin is a bit softer than standard resin, but the bird develops horizontally, shouldn't have issues
