I'm not super excited, but the DX09 is too expensive now and this will be the last Batman from this line, so, it's now or never. The Keaton sculpt really feels half-assed, like they couldn't really be bothered. I hope we'll get a Catwoman, but with all the Marvel and Star Wars releases (and MANY more to come), I don't think we'll see much more like this. Sadly. I understand it from a business perspective, Marvel and SW just fly off the shelves in much greater numbers, but hopefully another small firm will steal these 80-films licenses and give us great 1/6 representations of the characters, and from the ashes a new "Hot Toys" will rise.

Focusing too much on the "Now" licenses is like pissing your pants. Many people will buy now, it's easy money, but these fans seldom has the longevity that the hardcore fans has. So far, Hot Toys has been very aware of this. They have catered to both, but recently they seem to have been suckered in by all the money from the "Hot" licenses. Let's hope it's a phase.

They have always been great at diversity and I really look forward to seeing more classic figures in the future

No shots of the pers panel? I can see people buying this based on the pictures posted then ending up getting unpleasantly surprised by the ugly pers panel.

Why are people complaining about the mouth pieces? They were always shown with the proto, so you're getting what they showed.

It's been said a few times now. As with the Wayne Sculpt it was always hoped that they'd be changed for the better. They just look too similar to eachother - to the degree of being useless - and there are far better expressions from the movie they could have gone for. If memory serves the QS001 Batman had new and improved mouth pieces when that figure eventually came out which were different from what was shown in the prototype so it wasn't a totally unreasonable hope.

All that said, congrats to anyone whose getting everything they wanted with this figure. It's clearly a must if you don't have the DX09.

I actually haven't ruled it out completely, I still like the Returns suit. I want to see regular people's in-hand shots aswell.

As far as the suit goes, I wish Hot Toys was a little more ingenuitive. I know they didn't do it with the DX 09 five years ago, but it would have been nice if they made a fabric or a wet suit over the True Type body, with the a vinyl/pliable plastic segmented armor bits glued over the fabric ala DX 12 and Armory TDK Batman. There's really no excuse to make it a one piece rubber body suit again, especially when there's clearly a black fabric suit underneath the rubber suit anyway.

Little things like that would have really made this more realistic and put it over the DX 09 had they implemented them. His articulation would have been SWEET too. High kicks would be achievable and none of his punching or grapple aiming poses would look awkward.

If they had done this one the way DX 09 like customizers did it would be just like the films. It's not like Hot Toys isn't capable of achieving that reality in this scale when we have the TDK Batman with complex armor or Stormtroopers that they keep churning out efficiently. It'd be so simple.

Wow! Thats some great ingenuity with that custom HT 89 batman
I like my 89 batman fine right now and i dont when i will try and get this BR version. I definitely dont want that crappy keaton figure though, looks so cheap. The likeness isn't very strong and the suit just looks cheap. Nothing like something a billionaire would wear all thin and loose like that.

As I collector that passed on DX09, I am very happy with the mouth plate offerings on Returns. I would display my "one and only" (Batman Returns) with these neutral poses just like those who own DX09. Expressive mouth plates would have remained in box anyway.
